nationalism is good in one way in that "trust" is the most valuable currency for a community.

look at Ebay......it works because of trust.

so people need to be able to trust each other to act in a predictable way.

nationalism is bad in one way as well, in that the INDIVIDUAL must always be at the centre of any system and this is where hitler, marx, pol pot, mao , mugabe and every other leader of some "utopia" gets it wrong.

because the individual is ALWAYS more important then the collective.

capitalism recognises this.....provide value , as an individual , or starve.
contribute value or perish. it is the ultimate system for making the individual accountable and making him act unselfishly and making him take responsibility for OTHERS. because if he doesnt produce value for others, he dies.

this is why capitalist societies work.
because a guy with a bad back still gets out of bed on a rainy night to go fix the power pole and get the lights back on. not because he lives in a socialist utopia, but because he has to provide value and be responsible and then , if we all do that, things just improve and improve and improve.

50,000 new people connected to the power grid every day
30,000 new people connected to running water.

all because , INDIVIDUALS buy into a system where we must provide value to our fellow man or we will starve. thats so awesome . you will never design a better system .

the individual and free market capitalism .
