The USA is not evil but has made poor foreign policy decisions..to war in Vietnam, to war in Afghanistan, war in the ME that drives Islamic fundamentalism, as does supporting Israel's colonisation of Palestinian land, creating asylum seekers fleeing violence,..... and  involvement in regime change in Latin America, subsidising US agri biz that has killed LatinSouth America's agri trade, poor farmers  unable to compete that drove the drug trade and all the ill that goes with that....the US is self obsessed with being great that it has no concern for other nations and worse under Trump.

In short US freemarketeerism has created bad consequences for the common people to deal with, the elite don't have to worry about immigrants changing the demographics of their neighborhoods indeed they rejoice in higher immigration creating shopping malls and consumerism the wealth going to the top and increased inequality.

Why do all these people want to come here as well?  Because we're such a racist and oppressive nation that beats them into submission and gulags them?

They know which side their nan and unleavened bread is yak buttered on....

You have built and beautiful architecture. Infrastructure. Huge territory yet to be exploited (bigger as the USA).

Muslims and Africans have this sick plan — "We're gonna take Australia for us and no one else. And we're gonna settle on it, make it ours. Make it as Oriental as possible."

And  FREEEEEEEEDOM! for all who wish to play by the rules.... everyone has the right to go his/her own way in peace here...... as for the poor oppressed immigrant groups - you have the right to remain silent, Don-kay - you just don't use it!

No economic migrant should have open slather to pass through countries which are signatories to the UN Convention for Refugees just because they see $$$ signs in their eyes further on.

Do you know the difference between an economic migrant, an asylum seeker, and a refugee?

Based on posts, I'd say Black Orchid does know the difference......... she said 'economic migrant' - and they do not and never have had a free shot.  We vetted our Gypoes and Wops before we let them in.....

I'd say she doesn't.

The UN Convention for Refugees doesn't apply to economic migrants.

It's for asylum seekers/refugees.

That's why economic migrants call themselves asylum seekers or refugees.  Roll Eyes

Your point being?  Black was merely commenting on the possibility of sleeper economo reffos sneaking in as asylum sneakers...

Once clarified economoes can be sent on their way.

Not economic refugees - economic migrants.

Economic migrants don't apply for asylum.

So now there's a difference between economic refugee & economic migrant? I think the emphasis is on the word "economic" .... making the other trailers irrelevant as they both have the same goal.

My slip.... I think any difference is purely academic - if the sole reason a person wants to come here is because it is a better proposition than living in their country of origin... they cannot be a refugee from anything other than the condition of their nation economically and the opportunities it offers (or doesn't offer).

I'm really tired - had a long week driving hither and yon.. I'm off to watch a movie...
