Visa overstayers and 'settled' illegal migrants are still illegal immigrants who have actually entered Australia, whereas most, if not all, of Nauru and Manus detainees, have never entered Australia.

I wonder if Frank, Frank's parents, or other Frank family members, are visa overstayers or 'settled' illegal migrants.

Fess up Frank.

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The vast majority of illegal immigrants currently living in Australia came here by plane.

Moreover, some of the worst offenders are from the US and Britain.

In contrast, only a very, very small minority of illegal immigrants have arrived by boat.

This is not a personal opinion - it's a verifiable, indisputable fact.

More than 64,000 people are in Australia illegally after overstaying work and tourist visas, with the federal government estimating as many as 12,000 have been here for more than 20 years.
New figures from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection show temporary visitor visas are the mostly likely to be abused in Australia, while
Malaysian nationals made up the largest group
of unlawful non-citizens in the country last financial year.

Overstaying by a few weeks or months is not a big deal in the scheme of things. As a matter of fact, you are 'OK' to overstay by 28 days, no isssue.

Excuses, excuse, Soren.  Looks to me like the Government isn't really bothered by illegal immigrants.  They just want to victimise Asylum Seekers.  Tsk, tsk.

It's almost as if they treat known, documented and invited visa holders who can be easily deported differently to country shoppers.

How very dare they.   Roll Eyes

Yes.

Verifiable and indisputable.

Some of the worst offenders are from the US and Britain, along with illegal immigrants from China and Malaysia.

And, most of them came here by plane.

Which part don't you understand?

Happy news, Penny Wong can dry her faux tears and stop her wailing, Libs have got the last four of the children that Labor locked up (in the words of cretins), out of the concentration camps.

Just presenting the facts.

"The report states over 18,750 illegal migrants have lived in Australia for 15 years and the officials claim they have not been able to detect the black-market migrants.

"A quarter of these illegal migrants came from Malaysia or China, but 5170 are Americans and 3680 are British."

so why are they hopping on boats?

Passports and visas, Homo.

Not always that easy to get when you're fleeing persecution.

Got them to Indonesia, though.... Wink Wink Wink

Is 20 years okay, Frank?

I'm curious.

Not OK.

But being onshore, they have access to the legal system, at your expence, to seek endless judicial reviews.

Deportation is a lot harder than not letting them in  - the point of offshore processing. Deportation orderts are subject to endless legal appeals.  But you bastards want to spend the money on endless legal challenges to deportation orders and so you agitate for 'bringing them here'.  Because you understand nothing - or because you do understand it all too well and so want to purposefully undermine orderly and lawful immigration at every possible turn.
