How did the moon get there.

It's thought that early in the Earths life it collided with another planet causing part of the debris to become the Moon

The tides. The Moon is tidally locked to the Earth

Would life exist on earth without the moon.

I agree that you might be right  on the 1st 3rd and 4th points but why is the moon locked in on the tides, why doesn't the moon spin on its axis as most planets and moons do, the tides would be the same no matter which side of the moon faces Earth.

It appears that the Moon, in the distant past, was much closer to the Earth than it is now. Tidal drag on the rotation of the Moon would have been very high soon after the Earth-Moon system was formed.

A 1:1 spin-orbit resonance is actually stable for the Moon. If it rotated a bit faster, then the Moon would get a kick from tidal forces slowing it down each orbit, if it went a bit slower, it would get a kick speeding it up, at perigee.

So the likely explanation is that shortly after the Moon was formed, it was close enough to the Earth for its rotation to be slowed into a 1:1 spin-orbit resonance, or speeded up into one, and there it has stayed ever since.

The moon is spinning on its axis, the orbital speed and rotation is what keeps it's orientation the same. It's called synchronous rotation.

But the Moon is not rotating if the same side of the Moon faces Earth all the time, which it is.

In equilibrium, synchronous, in harmony, amazing.

You're right Xeej.

The coincidence of the Earth-Moon relationship is amazing.

Of how we always see the same 'face' of the moon.
Of how the moon precisely fits the size of the Sun during an eclipse.
Of how the Moon makes the Earth's heart beat in the motion of tide.

I'm sure there's more.
But coincidence comes in many ways and keeps us wondering why.

Like the 3 Old worlds of Africa, Asia & Europe have each a small Island nation off them: British/Eire Isles, the Japans, Madagascar.

Of how the desert region of the Middle-East, with its dots of Oasis's are opposite to the ocean region of Oceania, with its dots of Islands.

I'm sure there's more to it.

I'm not the one making the claim, I don't have to "find" evidence. You have to prove it.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

It is rotating, just not in reference to us.

As I've already explained that is purely due to the orbit being tidally locked. Additionally due to the fact that the moons orbit isn't circular we actually get to see 59% of the moons surface over the course of a month (due to libration)

No actually it doesn't. Due to the earths orbit not being circular and the moons orbit not being circular, the moon can appear up to 8% larger than the sun or up to 10% smaller than the sun

The tides are merely a result of gravitational forces. Nothing special there.
