Just to repeat Greggy is not known as the Village Idiot for nothing. He is a worthless troll who seeks to disrupt any intelligent discussion because that makes him feel inadequate.

Yet no one in Australia cried when the Bali bombers faced the firing squad -

go figure?

Some people deserve to be killed.

Yes - John Howard said nothing against it and
neither did any other politician.

Maybe Greggy - the apologist, cried?

This all reeks of hypocrisy.

Come on, Bobby !

'Hypocrisy' is WAY too mild a term for what's going on

Said in here years ago that we should not be paying for the farce that calls itself Australian government and politicians

when all they do is act as semi-human tape-recorders, or parrots if you prefer.  All they do is mouth scripts written for them overseas

Let's cut out the middle-men and save a few quid

Let's just sit by our computers/phones each morning and receive our orders direct from izrail ---- the way our incompetent, filth faux-government and politicians do

It's a very tricky question the death penalty on a personal level ... I'm against it in principle, but I reckon if my daughter was a victim of some filthy ratbags and was killed in an horrific way, I would personally not be happy until the offenders were dead.

As for the expense of keeping murderers alive rather than killing them, I sometimes think it would be an idea to offer the convicted murderer either life in prison never to be released - or death - their choice.

But it would have to be that the convicted is absolutely, positively, no doubt at all, not even reasonable doubt guilty of the crime.

Just to clarify ... we are talking about Imam Samudra, Amrozi Nurhasyim, and Ali Ghufron aren't we?

Not the "Bali nine drug runners" ?

Ditto.

However, that doesn't mean that the state-sanctioned, premeditated killing of prisoners is acceptable in a modern, civilised society.

No.

I am against the death penalty in all situations.

No exceptions, whatsoever, under any circumstances.

However, if someone murdered a member of my family, I'm pretty sure my initial reaction would be wanting to see them dead too.

"Australia will do whatever it can to help bring Hambali to justice but will not advocate the death penalty, the foreign affairs minister, Julie Bishop, said while welcoming the US decision to prosecute the accused architect of the 2002 Bali bombing."

Australia won't push for death penalty for alleged Bali bombing architect, Bishop says.
