i think we need to be a bit more humble about issues like this.
you have to show you are a person who can put your own house in order before you go releasing your plans to change the world.
i doubt that anyone in the federal parliament can lay claim to that.
the politicians should all spend today cleaning up their office, untangling the cords on their computer, cleaning up their pidgeon holes, working on establishing good relations with their staff, chatting to their wives and husbands about mundane things.
you have to have some humility and recognise your zone of competance.
once you are the sort of person who has sorted themselves out, has a clean environment, a good diet, is sleeping well, has a good family , has repaired relationships with your mum and dad and neighbours, maybe then you can gracefully try to fix a few things in your local community, maybe a school sporting facility, maybe a local park, maybe a local road.
cut your teeth proving your competance with the little stuff.
then in 40 years you might be able to offer an opinion on the death penalty.
