In Australia: "most sexual assault incidents are not reported to police."

Sexual assault as defined is not entirely rape - stop moving the goal posts and stick to rape pure and simple - rape is a minor factor and a very low incidence crime in Australia. In NSW, the most populous state, it is THE lowest incidence crime.

Oh, and ...

We know women under-report sexual abuse largely from the 'Personal Safety Survey' of 2005.

Information returned in that corroborated anecdotal evidence from crisis workers and support workers that women tend not to go to the police.

Unreported does not mean they told no-one, just that they didn't go to the police (mothra, polanimal, 2018).
