Now the gory story of the Lefty/Greeny Abbott lies leaks out all over the floor and makes the lying denying Lefties cringe.
They fear him because he is a truly viable conservative candidate and they know that, despite all their caterwauling to the contrary, a John Howard-style 'Lazarus Rising' is not beyond him. Especially after a term of Labor gives the electorate a taste of real leftist policies.
Not only that, but he's got the one thing that is always kryptonite to the left - common sense.
Time for the Australian conservative equivalent to Godwin's law: "The first to mention Abbott in a political discussion loses the argument." TONY ABBOTT’S LONG-TERM LEFTIST MIND OCCUPATIONTim Blair, The Daily TelegraphSeptember 18, 2018 3:27pm
Tony Abbott, who alternates between Warringah, Canberra, and Labor brainspace
Anytime a Labor politician starts talking about any subject, it’s basically just a countdown to them mentioning Tony Abbott. The ex-PM lives in Labor’s vast mental wilderness, endlessly being nominated as the cause of everything wicked. Here’s a perfect example from Labor’s Tanya Plibersek in 2012, following the resignation of Labor-nominated house speaker Peter Slipper:
I think it is right that Mr Slipper has taken responsibility. He's apologised for the language and he's tendered his resignation and it shows two things. It shows that he has respect for the institution of the Parliament and it shows that he knows that the language that he has used is wrong and should not have been used.
And I think it raises the question about the role that Tony Abbott's playing.
Of course it does. And here’s Labor leader Bill Shorten just this weekend:
I think that people are sick and tired of the climate change wars. The climate denialists for all intents and purposes, like Tony Abbott, have taken over the Liberal Party.
Abbott’s a backbencher with no cabinet post, yet Labor still sees him as their great nemesis. The same goes for much of the left, which is why there was so much rejoicing last week over claims Abbott had faced some kind of uprising during the preselection process in Warringah.
“Tony Abbott has narrowly avoided being kicked out of the blue ribbon seat he has held for 25 years,” the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
“In an unprecedented challenge that has thrown the spotlight on the former prime minister's political future, Mr Abbott may have secured just 55 per cent of votes cast during a fiery preselection meeting in his safe Sydney electorate of Warringah.”
All of the reporting on this meeting gave the impression Abbott had been opposed by grassroots Liberal members. This may not be the case. Back in May, the Guardian exposed a branch-stacking strategy aimed at Abbott.
“Tony Abbott’s political future could be under threat from a group of activists who have been organising environmentally conscious voters to join Liberal party branches on Sydney’s north shore,” the Guardian revealed:
The North Shore Environmental Stewards have held at least two recruitment functions at which attendees were urged to tap into their networks of environmentally conscious people to join the Liberal party branches in Abbott’s seat of Warringah and on the lower north shore.
So there we have our anti-Abbott Liberal members, who very possibly have never in their lives been Liberal voters. Nice trick, kids.https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/blogs/tim-blair/tony-abbotts-longterm-leftist-...
