Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegation

65 women defend Kavanaugh after sexual misconduct allegations

Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump’s conservative nominee for the supreme court, has denied a sexual misconduct allegation from when he was in high school.

In a statement released by the White House, Kavanaugh said: “I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time.”

Kavanaugh’s statement comes after Senator Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate judiciary committee, said she has notified federal investigators about information she received about the nominee but won’t disclose publicly.

The New Yorker reported the alleged incident took place at a party when Kavanaugh, now 53, was attending Georgetown preparatory school. The woman making the allegation attended a nearby school.

The magazine says the woman sent a letter about the allegation to Democrats. A Democratic aide and another person familiar with the letter confirmed Friday to the Associated Press that the allegation is sexual in nature. Two other people familiar with the matter confirmed to the AP that the alleged incident happened in high school. They were not authorized to speak publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The AP has not confirmed the details of the alleged incident in the New Yorker’s account.

Rallying to Kavanaugh’s defense, 65 women who knew him in high school issued a letter,
released by Republicans on the Senate judiciary committee, saying he has “always treated women with decency and respect”.

“We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983,” wrote the women, who said most of them had attended all-girl high schools in the area. “For the entire time we have known Brett Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect.”

The judiciary committee, which has finished confirmation hearings for Kavanagh, is scheduled to vote next Thursday on whether to recommend that he be confirmed by the full Senate.

The White House called Feinstein’s move an “11th hour attempt to delay his confirmation”.

The California Democrat said in a statement Thursday that she “received information from an individual concerning the nomination”. She said the person “strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision”.

The FBI confirmed that it received the information Wednesday evening and included it in Kavanaugh’s background file, which is maintained as part of his nomination. The agency said that is its standard process.

Feinstein’s statement that she has “referred the matter to federal investigative authorities” jolted Capitol Hill and threatened to disrupt what has been a steady path toward confirmation for Kavanaugh by Republicans eager to see the conservative judge on the court.

Feinstein has held the letter close. Democratic senators on the panel met privately Wednesday evening and discussed the information, according to Senate aides who were not authorized to discuss the situation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

A spokeswoman for Anna Eshoo, a Democratic representative from California, declined to confirm reports that the congresswoman had forwarded a letter containing the allegations to Feinstein. She said her office has a confidentiality policy regarding casework for constituents.

A White House spokeswoman, Kerri Kupec, said the FBI has vetted Kavanaugh “thoroughly and repeatedly” during his career in government and the judiciary.

She said Kavanaugh has had 65 meetings with senators – including with Feinstein – sat through over 30 hours of testimony and publicly addressed more than 2,000 questions. “Not until the eve of his confirmation has Sen. Feinstein or anyone raised the specter of new ’information’ about him”, she said.

John Cornyn, the second-ranking Republican Senator from Texas and a member of the committee, was also skeptical.

“Let me get this straight: this is (sic) statement about secret letter regarding a secret matter and an unidentified person. Right,” he tweeted.

Kavanaugh has undergone six federal background checks over his time in government, including one most recently for the nomination, the aide said.

The new information on Kavanaugh was included Thursday in his confidential background file at the committee and is now available for senators to review, the aide said.

Democrats don’t have the votes to block Kavanaugh’s nomination if Republicans are unified in favor of it.

Astounding....The Republicans on the Senate judiciary committee had a letter ready to go defending Kavanaugh against inappropriate behaviour against woman....65 woman felt the need to write this letter to the Republican Senate judiciary committee because he has never acted inappropriately....It makes no sense why they would write the letter in the first place if this is what they believe???

He hasn't been, & won't be convicted of anything, much less even charged, because it's just a desperate BS Story made up by the democ-RATS in the desperate hopes of stopping Kavanaugh's eventual confirmation to the US Supreme Court.

Now, even if it were remotely true, which it isn't, the statute of limitations would have run out many years ago, forgetting that as a 14 year old himself, he wouldn't have been charged with any crime anyway.

Well, I hope this man is charged and convicted for this sex-crime, in full accordance with the constitution of the United States.

The demon-RATS found out a long time ago, when all else fails, that sexual accusations work, & in America it's an election year tradition.

Allege their sexual experiences, go anonymous, spend $150.00 or so to file in court, & have a far-left activist lawyer toss crumbs to the "Deep State Media", formerly MSM, to keep the carrion crow scavenging.

Then within a week or so of the election/event claim that the "victim" is in deep depression, & won't/is unable to meet with the court because of their depression. Keeping their true identity safe. Then as mysteriously as they appeared, off they go, to probably collect their fees, & vanish forever.....election over.....they've served their purpose.

Sometimes they re-appear the next election cycle, with different claims, against a different candidate, but it's hard to tell because they always use the heart-tug secretive approach, & claim anonymity.

That said, there are some more credible claimants that make stronger claims far in advance of the election day. They are often corroborated & have others willing to testify in their behalf. They are the ones that divulge their full names, appear in print & on tv, make solid claims with the court, & stick around until their cases are settled in court long after the elections are settled. If I were to feel sorry for anyone it's those claimants, who's cause has been severely tarnished & made so much more difficult by the false claimants I mentioned earlier.

Either way, you can always tell when the bogus claimants will arrive.....they seem to all slither out from under their rocks just before or around the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November......Election Day, or within a few weeks before a crucial vote in Congress.

Their tell tail trait is how quickly they, & their claims, depart from the spotlight, usually never to be heard of again.

This is the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice, Panther. As you well know as a constitutional expert, he or she is above the law, above party politics and affiliations. Many of the court's functions is to rule on such affiliations.

A Judge must be of pristine character, Panther. Mr Trump has chosen to nominate a paedophile rapist, a man also accused of the sexual harassment of an employee.

Reflecting back on the four-day nightmare also known as the “French for POTUS trial balloon,” I was simply stunned at the sheer number of people from my past who came forward to offer help and support. And I wasn’t even a tenth as prominent as Kavanaugh.

But this response is downright temperate compared to the next wave. Now the fact that Kavanaugh coached girls’ basketball and hired so many female clerks is suspicious.

⮞ It’s a simple fact that millions of partisans are primed to believe any allegation against a person on the other side, and then they’ll interpret the rest of their life against the backdrop of those claims.

And no one knows the behavior of partisans better than politicians. Feinstein is achieving her intended purpose.

One does not toy with allegations of sexual assault.

If there is substantial evidence that Brett Kavanaugh tried to rape a girl,

then

that’s disqualifying.
