Ever notice it rains where there are trees.
The two parts of NSW (far North & South Coastal) that are heavily treed have the most rainfall in the State.
Sydney gets more rainfall than Melboure (false 'rainy city' and it doesn't have 'storms' like Sydney does, so where the hell did they get their NRL team name from?
) because it is 'surrounded' by trees (forests) at least.
Of areas surrounded by 'forests' - the rain falls upon them, but not much in the Ruralised 'barer' parts in the middle.
The rain just goes around, or sticks to the outside. Only 10% comes over the bare Rural areas.
Nimmitabel is a very good example.
Satellite and Stats showed a good rainfall over a region of WA. Then half was turned into Wheat Rural (trees all gone) and fenced (Rabbit Proof). Ever since, the rain has stopped over the Wheat Rural side, but still continues over the Forest (Bush) side.
Trees create Shade.
Shade creates cooler, less dry soil.
Cooler, less dry Soil - accommodates Worms.
Worms make 'quality' fertile Soil
Quality fertile Soil makes good Crops/Grazing Lands.
Grazing Lands provide good grasses for Herds.
*Aboriginals created their Parklands for Roos & Emus - with plenty of Forest Trees.
