Keep pumping people from the poorest belt in, who are prepared to live in piss-poor accommodation and eke out a living on $10 a day - and the demand for housing will always remain high...

But there is no final solution in sight.... for one reason .... all the Third Worlders congregate in the major city centres, and those centres are past their use-by date in terms of expansion and infrastructure....

Hang on - I thought the real estate market was just a ponzi scheme and there were too many apartments being built and the banks were stopping loans and investors were pulling out and it was all going to crash and look houses will be 30-50% cheaper than now or something?

What happened?

It is, that's why they need to hatch up every scam they can to keep the ponzi scheme going. The last thing they want is a house for everyone because then who would the flippers and the light shoe brigade flog or rent there investment properties to ?

30-50% cheaper is still too expensive... the homeless are homeless for a reason: this country is built on fake income! That means it is unstable! You think the homeless will all of a sudden be snapping up cheap houses before the government department dinosaurs do, let alone the imported investors? 30%-50% by when... if the price of houses doubles every seven years then none of that matters anyway--> I know, just give immigrants everything and watch your own country starve and be homeless.

We had a "homeless day" thing where I volunteer last week, the ANZ put on a barby so we didn't do the cooking, we made side dishes, salads, etc. You know the funniest thing about the day? The ANZ had their "home loan" people there to help the homeless find homes. I guess some people just don't get it.
