Ikea start the scam of the decade
Aug 15th, 2018 at 6:35pm

Ikea have stopped buyers taking their flatpacks and furniture with them

They will now have to avail themselves of home delivery, the only option to getting their large buys

And..here comes the kicker. IKEA's delivery charges are astronomical.  We had wardrobes delivered by IKEA and it cost more than the wardrobes themselves

This is the ripoff of the century, let the buyer beware

Ikea stores are interesting enuf to me to have a look-see but the few things I have bought there were tossed out with the rubbish - disposable, poorly made furniture ... but everyone knows that, right? It is no secret but the store is packed everytime I go in, especially with Chinese who lay all over the furniture like it is there own home ...

Last year I was doing a reno on a 1 bedder flat and got some Ikea bathroom stuff for the bathroom.

When I got home and opened my car the box with a ceramic sink slid down and fell out, I reckon it was in 1000s pieces inside the box.

I took it back and they swapped it no questions asked.

A week later I was back for something else, and saw the box in the bargain section  Grin Grin Grin

My wife wants to reno our kitchen and so we made a visit to Ikea to look at the kitchen cabinets, counters, etc but walked out after seeing how poorly made it was ...

They're not cheap either. The kitchen guy I use is cheaper for custom.

No.

"Add products to your shopping list and then select your nearest IKEA store or Collection Point. You will receive an SMS and email when your order is ready for collection".

https://www.ikea.com/ms/en_AU/customer_service/Click_and_Collect.html

I'd strongly advise against watching shows like ACA.

Okay, I tracked down the ACA story and have watched it (that was hard to admit).

It turns out that they are offering an additional service.

That is, they are building smaller stores, in shopping centres, which will be delivery only.

For those who want to pick up their own packages, they can still do so at the regular, larger stores.

They are not stopping people from picking up their own packages - they are just providing another option.

For those of you who don't want to watch the whole thing - and I would hope that's most of you - just watch from the 2 minute mark to 2 mins 25 secs.

Red got it wrong.

https://www.9now.com.au/a-current-affair/2018/extras/latest/180803/great-ikea-ov...

And, apologies for posting a link to ACA - I only did it because Red mentioned it.

I feel dirty now    Embarrassed

I need a new kitchen floor but it needs to be leveled first. Does anyone have any idea what needs to be done?

Did you check that the wardrobes weren't full of closet poms?

You can use closet poms as garden ornaments. Dogs and flies love them.
