Dogs not cats!

Hi
Aug 10th, 2018 at 9:58pm

Hello everybody!

How are we all? I just consumed a nice TBone (inch thick, Angus beef) with hash browns (WAS a good thing I bought two spuds, eh Agnes  Smiley ) and chasseur sauce. Hmmmm!

Been having a devils time fitting my 6 cherry trees into the plan for my Tassie block—wrong, or poorly expressed, details of the cherry trees “If left alone the tree will reach a height of 3m” when the bloody things would reach 14–15', more like 5m!

I better not fertilise the cherries EVER! Just mulch.

Did you know plastic water bottles plus thick, plastic coated wire make a pretty good branch bender-downer.

Actually, both the M111 apple rootstock and the Colt cherry rootstock, both semidwarfing, cope well with clay soil.

Not all that long ago I had two Berkshire pork chops. Took them out the fridge to warm to room temperature. Had omelettes for dinner and dog spent night in the back porch!

You don’t hit a dog, you punish it by ignoring it. They HATE being ignored. Dunno about cats. . .

my cat ignores me!!   sits with her back to me when she has the poos...every time I sit down she is on my lap..when I try to unload her she digs her claws in...I have threads pulled on everything..... shes like me getting old and grumpy I guess..the other one is not so bad  they mostly take swipes at each other as they pass.

Ha! We did have a cat or two when I was a kid but don’t remember them. Rather have a dog. Dogs are way cleverer than cats, have way more neurones. Dogs are pack animals so relate to you, a cat just looks at you as a source of food.

I think thats true   however I do believe my cats are jealous of me..many times I have both of them on my lap well one on the chest actually  because they dont like being in contact with each other.....I am loaded up  I can tell you...they are comfortable too bad about me....

but one the oldest always leads me to the kitchen where they are fed......always...thats when I get the cold shoulder if I dont put something yummy down.

Whatever dog I have gets fed at the same time every day. If they don’t eat it the food goes back in the fridge. Result—no finicky eaters.

Not that the present mutt has EVER shown a sign of finickyness! But Tiffy tried it once, wouldn’t eat the chicken wing. Back in the fridge it went, back out in an hour, nope so back in the fridge. Repeated that the second day, nope. But she ate it the third day!

I don’t leave dry food out. Water yes not dry food. Carnivores eat a big meal when they kill prey, don’t nibble all day long like herbivores have to.

Dogs—dunno about cats—have like 220,000,000 scent detectors in their nose but have hardly any taste buds: this makes sense, if something smells like food better gobble it down before something takes the food away from you.

BUT....thats it   I refuse to bend to them anymore..

Demi will happily chow down on a tin of sardines, 79¢ from the supermarket. She really is all about quantity not quality.

You feed them Cods' "whiskers"?

My cat went off Whiskas dry cat food about 6 years ago after eating Whiskas exclusively for about 7 years. She now eats Friskies after we tried several brands which she refused to eat.

She won't eat any canned 'wet' cat food.

its the pouches they get  they wont eat tinned either...  tried Dine dry  but it was a b it iffy..and always expensive...having two makes a difference....I wondered about the dry stuff if it gets stale..????  how would you know?...I had a beautiful dog years ago and suddenly she wouldnt have a bar of her dry food...cant remember the brand...she would go hungry  as I would mix wet and dry in those days....in the end I threw the bag out but when I looked what was left was mouldy.... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes.. just the 1k bag   so I wasnt impressed and felt terrible.....  I just wasnt ready for that......my poor dog..
