The choice is an interesting one.  The Type 26 is a good ship by all accounts and it marks a change in direction for our Frigates - from a patrol configured ship to an ASW configured one.  It is obviously aimed at countering the perceived threat from the PRC's PLAN with it's large number of submarines.
