Tesla is planning to build a plant in China
Jul 11th, 2018 at 11:10am

Quote:
Tesla is planning to build a plant in China, and it expects to produce 500,000 cars a year. It comes after the company signed an agreement on the deal with Shanghai’s municipal government. Tesla has as long been trying to work out a deal with local authorities. CEO Elon Musk has said he hopes to begin producing cars in the country in 2020. The news saw shares rally more than 2%.

Well Tesla is not coming here to jobsungroth territory that is for sure. We will have to put up with Mals coffee shop and lawn mowing jobs. No EV manufacturing jobs for us unfortunately since the uptake in EV's is still 20 years behind everyone else Sad

Yeah. They should come and build their 500,000 cars a year here. Doesn't matter about long supply lines, we'll just ship them on one of them new fangled wind operated ships to wherever they need to go.

Doesn't matter that the most of humanity lives in the northern hemisphere and that's where the sales will be.

"Like all types of transportation that use fossil fuels, vessels produce carbon dioxide emissions that significantly contribute to global climate change and acidification. Besides carbon dioxide ships also release a handful of other pollutants that contribute to the problem.

We support the efforts made by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to prevent and significantly reduce marine plastic pollution from the shipping sector and in curbing greenhouse gas emissions from ships, as it implements other regulations that will mandate cleaner-burning fuels at sea."

don't worry. Before long Elon Musk will be building battery powered ships Wink Fortunately china doesn't employ dummies like yourself to make major technical decisions for them. They'd still be dragging along rickshaws if they did !

Good one. Don't address the issue at all. How much closer is China say to Europe? China to the USA?

You can't even answer simple questions. Does that make you the dummy?

whinge whine whinge whine. Tesla is setting up the plant in china to supply the local chinese with EV's. That's how it works in china. If you want china to buy your product you setup a factory in china and employ local chinese to build them ! Contrast that to way these sellouts here run the place where you bring in containers loads of imported manufactured goods and in exchange we will give them a bit of coal and iron ore Sad

In case you didn't know china is a huge adopter of EV's unlike boneheads like socko and yourself here which are addicted to the fossil fool bowser forever.

Of course. St Elon the Just would be a positive force. Forcing the Chinese to lift their appalling standards. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

You do understand OH&S is not just about being environmentally friendly; don't you? Remuneration isn't about the environment either.

Tell that to all of the aussie retailing leech corporations which buy clothing from Bangladesh on the cheap. And then there are idiot aussies and their equally idiot super funds falling over themselves to buy shares in these crap non value adding companies. Note how you don't complain about their support of OHS breaches. Only complain if it's a prospective battery electric car company which has not even started yet Cheesy LOL

became a comment about St Elon the Just -

Now - I wrote nothing about St Elon the Just  abusing the workforce. Wink

It is all part of doing business in China.

Are you going to tell me that St Elon the Just will do things his was way in China, or will he be constrained by Chinese policies?

China has poor OH&S. China has poor environmental policies. But according to DDH China has better Air Quality Standards than Australia. They just don't seem to have the knack of prosecuting breaches.

Make up your mind. If you do business in China you do it the Chinese way.

I'm sorry if this is too hard for you to understand.
