Same train of thought as those that said yes to the aborigines becoming citizens of Australia. Just that there was no reason to deny someone a right to become married because of their sexuality. The only difference was that it was a 60/40 vote for gay marriage, rather than the 90/10 vote for aboriginal citizenship.

It was not such a boom as a lot of little bangs

A lot of bum banging for sure.

Booby's fascination continues.

When I think of SSM, I imagine two sexy women kissing.

Bobby, on the other hand, imagines two men having anal sex.

That says a lot.

yuck

Yes.

The thought of two sexy women kissing disgusts you.

No surprises there, Booby.

You want to make a major change to society then you have a responsibility and duty to ask society not simply ram some idiotic change down their throat.
Pity the debate was so dishonest though eh and that the tiny minority had the useful idiots supporting them in numbers for no reason.

Major change to society - when did that happen?

Society is functioning just the same as it did before.

Have I missed something?

oh dear
YOU get so many things wrong don't you.
I'd give you advice like THINK ABOUT IT...  but that would simply be a waste of time. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

So, no major change to society?

I thought so.

Even for a TROLL you make a pretty big idiot. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Are you going to explain this major change to society, or are you going to keep us all guessing?

I'm curious.

Are you going to engage your brain in the process of intelligent thought or keep asking me stupid questions?

Cause I'm pretty sure you are the only one who is clueless on this.

Another made up bit of fake news.

Nobody said or expected a same sex marriage boom.

On the other side of the coin the supporters could rightly argue that the world didn't end either ?

Rubbish read the article... or maybe go back and read some of the pro SSM garbage spouted before that is posted on this site.

The vast majority just said that it was the right thing to do - end of story.

Even the homos now realize what an utterly ridiculous and bizarre thing it is for two people of the same sex to get married, it would be just as ridiculous for one person to marry them self, the poofs got into a tiff and went flying off on a tangent as they do, being weirdos. They are now and will forever be ridiculed and mocked for their weirdness.

Certainly not sensible people Spot. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I have heard the rational argument...  Oh FFS these people won't go away till we give them what they want.

that was pretty much what happened   I feel!  I voted NO in the end  because I was sick of being told  I had to vote YES..  thats  what I HAD TO DO....and I didnt like what was happening in the lead up to the postal....far too aggressive  for my liking...

however  my intention was to vote yes and get the bloody thing off the govt priority list.... bad attitude I know...but seriously the years and time it took up....pinged me off....I couldnt careless what they do to be honest its  none of my business......

but when the running of the country stops  to talk about it... grrrrrrrrrrrr

Seriously. You voted no because you were sick of being told to vote yes? How the f.uck does that work?

"I intended to vote yes but I was told to vote yes so I'm going to vote no instead."

A large majority voted in favour of it.

And, there's been no "major change to society" as a result.

Life goes on, just the same as it did before.

Let's not go over the definition of marriage and under what circumstances it may be entered into... not again.... there is no right to become married.... it's a matter of personal choice bounded by rules...

Rules?  In a knife fight?

Gay marriage is a symbolic way of getting the public to accept homosexuality.
