And how many of those 2600 correctly identified the GFC?

Any future course of action based on the IPCC is wrong.

The IPCC forecast to 2100 is WRONG therefore any course of action based on their papers is also WRONG.

Their forecast was way over the top, there was no hiatus in the weather the fact is their information was WRONG and it didn't warm in accordance with their computer models.

They over predicted and yet here we have people wanting taxes on misinformation FFS....... Angry

That's only because of different time zones. I wasn't up at 0540 (WST).

One of these days you may graduate to idiot level; but I won't hold my breath.

Do you expect economists to predict the future?

The GFC was an exception. Just about every mainstream economist saw it coming. That's what the reserve bank upped interest rates so much. Just because you are incapable of reading the newspaper headlines does not mean you were not warned.

Isn't that what they are attempting to do with this presentation? Roll Eyes

"Ann Pettifor I was one of the only economists who predicted the 2008 recession"

"As someone who correctly predicted the financial crisis (first in 2003 and later in a 2006 book) I support Andy Haldane’s assertion that the economics profession is “to some degree in crisis”. He is not the first to argue this.  The retiring head of the UK Treasury admitted in 2016 that economists failed to spot the build-up of risk before 2007 and were guilty of what he called “a monumental collective intellectual error”. It is a collective intellectual failure that I believe has played a key role in the rise of political populism."

Just about every mainstream economist saw it coming. A few particularly cunning ones claim they were the only one.

Why do you think the reserve bank raised interest rates so high?

Why do you think they were on the front page of the paper saying the economy was overheated?

Or does it only count as a prediction if they give you the date and time?

So we're all doomed if we don't pay for the air we breathe.

If we do pay we're saved.

Makes a lot of sense since the tipping point according to the arch bishop Al Gore was 2006.

Show me in our history were CO2 and temperature correlate......................AND I WILL BELIEVE.... Kiss

Would you like to address the actual topic? So far we've had predicting the GFC, Al Gore, and a child's interpretive screen dump of IPCC recommendations. What other strawmen do you have?

Why are you so desperate to change the topic? It's really not that scary.
