They should have left the coach in there to teach him a lesson.

What a great human interest story.

Kids caught in a situation that's most people's biggest nightmare and group of selfless dedicated people trying to get them out.

And a credit to specialists who flew from all over the world to help them.

Yes, a big success

ah, see gweg, thats where the left and myself differ.

i see these boys as heroic figures.
its not really about compassion , so much as pride in what humans can endure.'its an inspirational story.

the leftist media (and i presume" the conversation " is part of the leftist ABC) see this story not as one of inspiration and heroic endeavour. they see it more as one of compassion and hand wringing.

and then they ask (quite wrongly in my mind), why australians arent as gripped by the stories of the kids in detention on Naru.

because thats a sad weepie sooky butt hurt cry baby story and these boys are a strong inspirational brave courageous story.

they are totally different and the fact that one draws in the world and one does not is evidence that we NEED inspirational heroic stories to make us brave enough to "move forward".

What do you think of the "inspirational heroes" fighting without a spotlight for the safety and welfare of children in detention?

most of them got put out of work when Tony Abbott installed border control ...

oh that was a bad day for them... lol

most of the losers are most likely still on welfare not being able to get a job that isn't government funded...

Apparently it's started pissing down in the area. Good timing but unfortunately it will enforce the belief that prayers were instrumental in weather control.

Also good news is that Julie Bishop has said their will be some kind of formal recognition for Richard Harris. AO I reckon!

This is what schits me.  If the bloke was Russian, we'd not see it posted.

The doctor did an amazing job and 30 years experience or not and wether he loved diving for the last 30 years or not- he is now a hero and deservedly so- I am immensley proud of him

What was amazing?  What heroic thing did he do?  Why proud?

Being an Aussie doing what is his passion and day job is none of that.

Crap, Agnes.

You will not get meaning and purpose into your life by coat tailing what happens in the real World.

I just cannot fathom that.  I am yet to work it out.

just shut the **** up blowhard...

you've never achieved anything in your pathetic life apart for pissing people off...

if all you are going to do is grandstand on the backs of these kids then just pull the plug on your computer and give everyone a break.. ffs...  Roll Eyes

Get farqed, idiot.  Piss off back to the sewer where you are more suited.  This whole Thread is littered with posts by people who truly are grandstanding, and I am the bloke calling that out.  I want none of it.  I detest it.

Oh so you're the hero ey?

FFS Aussie take the tickets off.

Any foreign minister would be talking about this. Good on her for giving him a pat on the back.

Ms Bishop said Dr Harris is internationally renowned for his cave rescue expertise, and heads up a cave rescue operation.

She said the South Australian anaesthetist is well known to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for his help on their medical assistance teams during natural disasters in the Pacific region and his time working at the Port Villa hospital in Vanuatu with the Australian Aid program.

Ms Bishop said the government was "just delighted" with the work of Dr Harris and his dive parter Craig Challen, who is a vet from Perth.

"Between them, and the rest of the Australian team, I believe we were an integral part to the overall rescue," she said.

Their credentials had already been given throughout reports I thought.

Crap.

But I'm willing to listen to your reasoning.

Please don't tell me your argument is: "she's the foreign minister, and this happened in a foreign country".

exactly    can we seriously say enough about all these guys??..seems like some have jealousy problems....

its taken imo unbelievable courage from all involved   yes even those making the decisions...... and to have outside backing validation if you like   would be of untold help I am sure....

people with negative thoughts at times like this piss me off..wish they would take them elsewhere.. Angry
