Priest needs a smack in the chops.
I'm kinda surprised the father didn't. I guess they are a little f\/cked up as they took the poor kid there in the first place.
oh la la indeed.
I know peeps who are atheists but going thru all the Catholic blah just for the schooling. The school is actually pretty good and they don't pour too much crap into their heads, but the dad told me at their daughter's holy communion at the school Chapel, a collect plate for the Pell defense was being passed around.
I reckon catholic schools need a few more generations of change
I went to Catholic schools(Marist). We had RE but they were pretty lenient in the religion department. I was a bit of a hard case for them. They would tell me things like "if you don't bring your sports gear, you can't play", so I wouldn't bring my sports clothes for things I didn't want to participate in. Then they got upset at me and insulted my family by saying "if you can't afford the clothes we can help". I was told for Aussie rules I could only be boundary ump, I was cool with that until our Brother Kevin decided to slap me across the back of the head. I just turned and swung, he ducked. Soon after they asked me to leave and I went to Scarborough High. I had authority problems and I didn't back down even when my parents were brought in.
edit: I could tell you some good stories. Our Economics teacher, Mrs Kellynack , a lovely lady with an Indian accent I used to take the piss out of and she'd send me up for a caning, I'd go to the dunny, have a smoke, wet my hand and smack it on the wall, go back with my best acting of remorse, she'd buy it. I had the poor woman wrapped around my finger. I have so many stories about her it would have to be related face to face or write a book.
When I went to SSHS I had my English teacher Miss Aubrey run crying from the class.
It's a wonder I learned anything really.
I'm gifted, I suppose.
