It only needed explaining to those who support Trump no matter what he does.
Their opinions really don't matter anymore because they left reality long ago.
It's a shame though that their ignorant vote counts just as much as someone informed and who cared about an evidence-based approach.
I'm amazed that any Australian would support Trump, given his clear mal-intent towards US trading and security partners including Australia.
While his treatment of Australia ranges from distracted disinterest to mild contempt, leaving Australian politicians to eat sh!t and smile, do they think, in the end, he's going to go easier on Australia than Canada?
Of course not.
Even without Trump's actions, "America First" means Australia last.
We want our ally to succeed but they need to act like our ally, not succeed (or fail in an attempt to success) at our cost.
It's clear that Trump is more interested in personal relationships rather than any between nations. He's threatened by Trudeau, as a man, and his reactions reflect this.
He admires the power Kim holds, so he's basically sucking up to him to be seen as rubbing shoulders with what he considers "success".
Trump has already shown what he thinks about Turnbull and love him or hate him, he's our PM and another head of state being so disrespectful with the addition of his team doing the same thing, it's not something we should be defending.
But plenty support Trump because they think that if they support him, that somehow makes them greater.
