He's in the Philippines.

As far as I know, they haven't had the death penalty in the Philippines for a decade or more.

This guy sounds particularly nasty evil.  Quite disgusting.

Let's hope that "life in prison" means just that.

He's facing 69 more charges, so I don't think he'll ever get out.

And yet they summarily execute drug users, strange.

The face of pure evil: Australia’s worst paedophile grins as he’s led from court after being found guilty of raping a one-year-old girl, torturing toddlers and masterminding a sick global child porn network

,maybe they will make an exception in this .....case... Angry Angry Angry

all the same death is too good for him

I found the article a bit confusing as to where he was but hes obviously an aussie. I dont like the death penalty myself but . . . .  theres exceptions to every rule I guess.

They mightn't have the death penalty in the Philippines, but the police can shoot suspected drug dealers on sight if it suits them.

Sex trafficking of young girls is rampant over there and not much seems to be done about it.

$500,000 of Australian taxpayer's money has been spent defending him through legal aid. Maybe they'll transport him back here?

The average Australian can't access legal aid - yet child molesters and politicians appear to have unlimited access to it.

Yeah im a lil worried about how that is put across about the 500k in legal aid. Seriously we have to have legal aid. I hope this isn't used to get rid of it.

Yes, agreed.

The scheme - the Serious Overseas Criminal Matters Scheme - is currently under review by Attorney-General Christian Porter.

Really? Under new President Rodrigo Duterte there has been a war on drug dealers, users etc ...... he condoned killing them & they have been.

Even by Police covering there own involvement.

What in that Presidential decree do you find not being a death penalty?

I'm curious.

You have that in spades.

And it's not just in Australia.

What he's doing is murder.

He is summarily executing suspects.

i.e. there is no arrest, no court case, no trial - suspects are just murdered in the street.

When I talk of the death penalty or capital punishment, I'm talking about where convicted criminals are executed after they've had a chance to defend themselves in court.

Semantics? Maybe, but that's what I was talking about.
