I know someone who is taking Centerlink to court.
Centerlink refused to pay a genuine claim for the DSP.

Stupid comments?

You're the one who said:

"Should have worn a bursa and she woukd have gotten everything she needed and then some."

Why would wearing a fluid-filled sac help?

I'm curious.

re: the original OP ... it's typical of ill thought out policy & inflexible application by govt. depts.

Workers are constantly being bombarded by employers about being more "flexible" ........ how about it be applied to govt. agencies like CentreLink.

WHAT?  And ruin Fat Hank's contracted employee position annual bonus?  There was a good reason for the Public Service senior management to be fully independent of the government of the day, and it wasn't only to keep the filthy mates of filthy politicians out of nice little earners out of the public pot.  It was also to ensure they didn't slavishly follow the incumbent party line and/or became subordinate on pain of contract termination to any dictate of that party, but could advise and function independently.

With the introduction of Howard's Gauleiters, however..... all that is a life and times gone with the wind and Sherman is loose in the land...don't count on Labor, either - they love the opportunity to give a mate a 'job' with extreme perks and pay as well as ensuring that mate follows the party line.

I think the main problem with a lot of govt depts is this weird obsession australians have with doing everything "online". Humans are more diverse than that and dont fit in the logical algorithms of the forms. They need to fix the forms (allow a space for extenuating circumstances) or provide an alternative means of lodging your whatever.

This is what happens when cuts are made too deep. It goes to the bone and causes a lot of pain.

Meanwhile, the fat health insurance rebate has hardly been touched. That needs to be cut deeply, if not abolished altogether.
