You know Aussie and Greg, if you took foreign media publications and their translations as a given for errors to be made and took "confirmed" as "supported" this thread would likely be only one page. Being pedantic is not a good look.

A translation error is a natural assumption considering the report came from India to the Japanese media then translated into Japanese and then from Japanese translated to English for Japan Today.

Which reporter?

Whoever posted the article. Considering the multiplicities of the language divides, getting "confirmed" as a word rather than "supported" is not a big deal, unless you are a pedant and a racist for not acknowledging there may be words that are not up to the judicial needs of Australian courts.
