In fact, they had the best 'farm' in the world : AFRICA compared to anything Europe, Middle-East or Asia could muster up. Perhaps because it used it's black citizens effectively as slaves for many generations?

Perhaps because it created an industrialised society, whereas most African colonies were used purely as sources for resources?

South Africa is unique, I am quite willing to admit. However, it was unique in a bad way initially and then it was unique in a good way, Hammer.

In that time, it has suffered from Cold War thinking, of Cold War powers vying for control, former Imperial powers unwilling to relinquish their control of their former imperial possessions.
