Cyclists still pay the rego on their cars even when we leave them at home and ride our bikes, you know?  Don't be so jolly stingy about it!
It's un-Australian.

Not all cyclists own a car.

Get 'em off the road - they're a menace.

You have an interesting attitude and taste for shadenfreude.  Not all car drivers pay rego, touche'.  You could use a ticket to Copenhagen, to see how 46% of a city commutes by bike.

Are you disabled?  That might explain your opinion but not your attitude.

I don't live in Copenhagen (was very close last week, though) - I live in Perth, Western Australia.

In Perth, Western Australia, the majority of adult bike riders are rude pricks who disobey the law every five minutes, and abuse law-abiding motorists for no reason at all.

Get 'em off the roads (and footpaths).

Perth has seen a remarkable improvement in driver attitudes this year since the less lethal passing laws have started to become common knowledge.  Commuting has become quite a comfortable experience again after the last decade of road-rage.

When it comes to the shared paths, if the cyclists are in good moods because of the good moods of the car drivers, it makes us treat the pedestrians more gently, and before you know it, everyone is happy again!

You shouldn't be so negative about the better parts of future.

Perth has seen a remarkable decline in cyclists' attitudes.

Isn;'t that a anecdotal subjective measure. And even if it is true, have you thought it may well be because they are sick of being treated like poo by drivers?

From my observations (mainly in the CBD and surrounding areas), the cyclists are the ones treating everyone else like poo.

Every single day I see them break the law, abuse pedestrians, and intimidate drivers.

And, they're just getting worse.

I see it every single day, without fail.

I saw it (mindless abuse) happen not more than an hour ago.

As far as breaking the law goes, I see that happening out of my office window on a regular basis.

Cyclists are out of control in Perth.

Yeah well don't you worry, Greggery.  It will catch on gradually, but don't be left behind with yesterday's news.  Cyclists are human, pedestrians are human, and car drivers are human, and if you try to focus on the similarities and get your mind off the differences, you'll be speaking Danish before you know it.

There has been a significant improvement overall in our mutual objectives entirely due to the passing laws, so recognise it and get over the past.  People in Perth can be nice to each other on the roads again now.  Why don't you be happy too now?

I'm nice to everyone on the road, and on the footpaths.

Cyclists, however, are not.

I, for one, am happy to share the road with cyclists

However, I believe cyclists should be identifiable.

Number plates should be fitted to every bike ridden on the road, to assist in reporting those who break the law, intimidate drivers, damage vehicles or otherwise create a menace.

Those cyclists who argue against such measures have something to hide

Why do you want to hide your identity?

What are you doing wrong that you do not want your identity known?

How do you suggest I affix it so it can be seen from the rear, without causing a huge amount of drag?

Not worried about that, I'm more worried that it will take K's off my average speed.

You serious?  How much drag do you expect at 10kph?  Jesus - even replica aircraft sometimes have a fixed undercarriage because installing a retractable one is not worth it at the speed the replica may fly.... and that's a lot faster than your bike...

I am sorry to hear that you have made bad observations, but don't generalise about other people because you invite other people to generalise about you.

Do you honestly believe that there is not a single, living, decent cyclist in Australia?  If that is the case then I hope you die back.
