It looks like they r making 5000 battery packs a week now , they just hit the top 100 of car sales last month

So in a month they make 20,000 battery packs and sell 100 vehicles? Roll Eyes

In a month they make more battery packs than cars they sell in a YEAR.

https://insideevs.com/musk-tweets-tesla-production-hits-7000-in-7-days-model-3-r...

Tesla CEO Elon Musk just took to Twitter moments ago to let the world know that the automaker had achieved two production records.
7,000 in 7 days
5,000 Model 3 in a week

and they r still increasing production, it was a week of Tesla flat out so probably a month before they start hitting that all the time, but when they hit that every week it will be 350,000 cars a year...... Last year they build 100,000 cars.
That kind of increase in production, its easy to see why they have not made a profit.
The next half of the year though Tesla is saying they want to make a profit , so I guess they will take a breath for a bit and rest with a 350% increase of  manufacturing capability in 6 months , enjoy the ride Smiley Wink Wink

Fight-for-the-Future
[/url]
A common myth is that Tesla loses money on every car they sell. This can only be arrived at by the most naive of calculations: taking their quarterly losses and dividing by the number of vehicles sold. But Tesla has been spending massive amounts of money on capex in order to build huge factories and expand their store, service and charging networks in advance of the flood of new Model 3s.  Rapidly growing companies run negatives (see Amazon), and it’d be utterly irresponsible of them not to. No investor in such a company wants the company to start paying dividends when they’re small; they want them running at as much of a loss as they can sustain while they divert all of their funds into scaleup.
but but they will go Bankwupt

And let’s pretend that Tesla was actually in trouble, for the sake of argument.
Tesla has significant physical assets which they can borrow against which they have not yet borrowed from
Tesla can reduce R&D at will (and to a lesser extent, SG&A) — the two main negatives on their balance sheet.
Tesla can dilute its stock by issuing new shares; with nearly half a million people on a waiting list, the intrinsic value of the company means that there’s always going to be a buyer.
Musk can create contracts at will from SpaceX (and, to a lesser extent, Boring Company). SpaceX is on a roll and flush with cash.
Musk can sell off a portion of his SpaceX stake to personally bail out Tesla.  There’s a massive demand for buying into SpaceX that hasn’t been able to be filled because it’s privately held. And Musk has shown repeatedly throughout his history that he isn’t, if anything, afraid to go personally “all in”.
To sum up: Tesla is in no way, shape, or form going away. Period.

BUT BUT BUT they have never shown a profit.... therefore they r going bankwupt and chapter 14.5 the worse kind.......... Cheesy Cheesy

Lee hates his grandkids: it's a well known fact around here that I have proven over and over and ver for years ... That's why Lee and Juliar hate me and I'm not going anywhere  Cheesy

https://insideevs.com/teslas-first-store-in-new-zealand-is-now-open/
Tesla reveals new Auckland based store, just ahead of the right-hand drive Model 3 production start
The carmaker racked up an impressive 115 sales in the country year-to-date, and with the arrival of the right-hand-drive Model 3, those are only going to get better. In comparison, Jaguar sold only 145 units, while Maserati with 59 and Porsche with 176 comprise the bulk of the high-end luxury vehicle sales in the country.

Good on Tesla, getting into another market, and because the install their own chargers, less worry about range, wouldn't take many to cover new Zealand either Smiley Wink

https://insideevs.com/tesla-model-3-production-hit-60000-and-counting/
Tesla Model 3 cumulative production just exceeded 60,000, according to estimations by Bloomberg.
The latest 10,000 copies of the Model 3 were made within approximately two weeks since our report on production hitting 50,000. That means the average production rate is already steady above 5,000 a week.
The Tesla Model 3 Tracker indicates (as of August 5) 60,480 units produced and a production rate of 5,505 weekly.
As you can see below, with eight weeks to go for the third quarter, Tesla already produced more Model 3 than in the entire second quarter!
Production and deliveries of the Model 3 in previous quarters thus far:
2017’Q3 – 260 produced, and 222 delivered
2017’Q4 – 2,425 produced and 1,542 delivered
2018’Q1 – 9,766 produced and 8,182 delivered
2018’Q2 – 28,578 produced and 18,440 delivered
2018’Q3 – already >19,450 produced

Yes the New Tesla is starting to be mass produced,
They still have 420,000 pre orders to fulfil, even though they have sold 60,000 , looking good for this company Smiley

https://insideevs.com/2020-mercedes-benz-eqc-revealed-range-estimated-at-200-mil...
Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the EQC after a long series of teasers.
The first all-electric car under the technology brand EQ (EQ stands for “Electric Intelligence”) was unveiled today by Mercedes-Benz in Stockholm, Sweden. The full proper name of the car is Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4MATIC.

So in Maybe 3 years time Merc will have a car to compete with Tesla  Wink

https://insideevs.com/tesla-model-3-sales-pass-toyota-corolla/
Now it looks like the Model 3 has cleared that next hurdle and passed the Corolla Family in sales. Corolla sales dropped to 20,797 this month. Allowing the best selling electric sedan to slip by it in sales with an estimated 22,250 deliveries in September.
This, despite the fact that the Model 3 base model is not yet available and the fact that Tesla continues to have bottlenecks holding back deliveries in many U.S. locations.
So, what is the next car to be dethroned as the Model 3 climbs the passenger car sales charts? If Tesla can keep up this pace, the Honda Accord, Civic and Toyota Camry had better keep a close eye on their rearview mirrors. The Teslas are coming!

So looks like the 3 will be the 4th best selling car in USA in September.....
Their sales will keep improving as they haven't started selling them to the rest of the world yet (except Canada) also the cheep version hasn't been released either and in USA they haven't started to lease the cars yet.

Tesla released numbers and they sold 83000 cars in the 3rd quarter... that's 17000 less than they sold last year..... I guess we can see why they didn't make a profit, putting so much into extra production isn't cheep Smiley Wink
