Ok lee so why do u think Tesla r going broke ?

because they are burning money. because they have not made a profit.

First quarter this year. It doesn't inspire me with confidence. You however seem ok with that

You didn't say you were invested, so I take it you are not.

I am not determined they will fail. I couldn't give a fat black rats a*se.

You want them to fail because you are addicted to oil and probably have shares in oil companies or their spin-offs. That's the usual motive for bagging EV's. Just ask your good mate socko where his vested interest lies ?

They are a very young startup, commercializing something that has not been commercialized by any other car manufacturer on the same scale.

15 years is a long way from a young startup.

DDH likes to spout Amazon. Guess what  -

"It's interesting how muted the response was to the news last week that Amazon.com — after six years in business and as the poster child for the dot-com boom and bust — finally announced real profits.

Amazon had announced profits before, but they were always a little fishy, leaving off the table little things like stock options and losses on investments. But there was no doubt about the fourth quarter of 2001: "

https://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=87393&page=1

So Amazon made some "iffy" profits inside 6 years.

So how long before Tesla make a profit "iffy" or otherwise? This quarter hopefully for them.

If you have been involved with the tech industry you should know that any start-up will consume large amounts of money and resources and not produce a profit for years.

Yep they have had 15 years.

You are starting to sound like a tout. Are you on commission?

again lee I guess only time will tell if they go bankrupt or not.
2000 car a year to 100000 in 5 years.
the S and X models r in the same production and so far this year they have made 40,000 model 3 so yes speculation but looking to be over 200,000 this year, and still 400,000 on back order.
Will be a shame if they go under, but i guess for all us optimists , including the investors that r sticking to Tesla betting they succeed it will be awesome. Wink Wink

Where did you pluck that figure from? Is it what the shareholders value it at or the companies worth? They are two different things.

Fight-for-the-Future
[/url]
A common myth is that Tesla loses money on every car they sell. This can only be arrived at by the most naive of calculations: taking their quarterly losses and dividing by the number of vehicles sold. But Tesla has been spending massive amounts of money on capex in order to build huge factories and expand their store, service and charging networks in advance of the flood of new Model 3s.  Rapidly growing companies run negatives (see Amazon), and it’d be utterly irresponsible of them not to. No investor in such a company wants the company to start paying dividends when they’re small; they want them running at as much of a loss as they can sustain while they divert all of their funds into scaleup.
but but they will go Bankwupt

And let’s pretend that Tesla was actually in trouble, for the sake of argument.
Tesla has significant physical assets which they can borrow against which they have not yet borrowed from
Tesla can reduce R&D at will (and to a lesser extent, SG&A) — the two main negatives on their balance sheet.
Tesla can dilute its stock by issuing new shares; with nearly half a million people on a waiting list, the intrinsic value of the company means that there’s always going to be a buyer.
Musk can create contracts at will from SpaceX (and, to a lesser extent, Boring Company). SpaceX is on a roll and flush with cash.
Musk can sell off a portion of his SpaceX stake to personally bail out Tesla.  There’s a massive demand for buying into SpaceX that hasn’t been able to be filled because it’s privately held. And Musk has shown repeatedly throughout his history that he isn’t, if anything, afraid to go personally “all in”.
To sum up: Tesla is in no way, shape, or form going away. Period.

BUT BUT BUT they have never shown a profit.... therefore they r going bankwupt and chapter 14.5 the worse kind.......... Cheesy Cheesy

so i guess a bigger question for u Lee is if they have never shown a profit and u think they should of gone bankwupt, than after 12 years why r they only getting bigger and bigger , their production going up and their holdings increasing ?
It doesn't make sense, they haven't borrowed off their assets and they haven't flooded the market with extra shares, they haven't stopped expanding or researching...... they r doing it all wrong damm them to hell.
SO in your mind they r going Bankwupt and the worse kind, chapter 14.5
Wink Wink
ohhh i haven't checked there stock today r their investors all leaving them and the stock plummeting ?
They must be if they r going bankwupt. Wink Wink

https://electrek.co/2018/06/28/tesla-model-3-dual-motor-prodcution/
Tesla has opened up orders for a wider number of Model 3 reservation holders this week and it looks like the company is shifting to focus on production of the new dual motor and performance version.
We’ve now learned that Tesla is registering an important batch of Model 3 dual motor VINs as it prepares to start volume production

It looks like they r making 5000 battery packs a week now , they just hit the top 100 of car sales last month , still just setting up production and best selling car in their class last month as well.
No other car manufacturer is even getting close to making a competitor to this vehicle ,
Now Elon is talking about their new ute, I think id be worried if I was Ford or GM . Smiley Smiley
