There is no cure for a cold virus.

All the home remedies are at best placebos

If there was no cure for the cold virus, we would not be able to recover from the virus. Ingesting citric acid does do its bit to kill off part of the virus to give the immune system some room in building antibodies to do the rest of the recovery.

Another remedy is to take garlic and horseradish tablets.

Keep warm.

Wearing a singlet helps.

It makes you sweat dingbat without expending energy.... Kiss

What does sweating have to do with the fact that short of taking anti-virals, anything at best is symptom control.

I used to think heroin was the cure for the common cold, because I never had a cold or flu at all, for well over 20 years, then when I first became a father I put that shite behind me, and lo and behold, I started getting colds, and flu.
Some people think if you are happy viruses are less likely to take hold, and I was certainly happy to be stoned, so perhaps it was that.
Either way, if I had to choose, I know what I would pick. Roll Eyes

Over 100 years ago they used to prescribe Laudanum for colds -
it contains opium.

My Grandmother was given that as a child for colds, flu & teething.
It works very well and it's only because of junkies abusing it that we can longer get proper
relief from such medical problems & pain.

I did -
Google shows that Laudanum was abused.
That's my point -
because some people abused it everyone else is denied a proper remedy & must suffer.

Natures own Olive leaf extract.
Tastes like utter crap but it works. I have a decent shot of it as soon as the symptoms start. Never get a bad cold or flu. Great for the immune system.

Sweating relieves the symptoms and helps kill the germs.

Our immune systems kill the virus usually within a week or so
All the naturapathic remedies are just old wives tales.
citric acid, garlic and horseradish no nothing against the virus

As Bojack said, home remedies do nothing to kill the virus. At best they may relieve some symptoms.

garbage.
A fever does help kill some viruses and bacteria that are sensitive to temperature changes (The cold virus is not one of these). Sweating is only the bodies response to the fever and does nothing in itself.
