Home remedies for cold's
May 13th, 2018 at 11:41am

A hot cup of camomile or if you aint got tea will do.

Squish half a lemon

A tea spoon of honey

A drop of whiskey

Stir well

Makes you sweat and feel better.

I've been under the weather for a few days now, yesterday I felt like I was hit by a bus, been drinking lots of the above feeling slightly better...... Angry

A cold is a virus.
There is no cure for a cold virus.

All the home remedies are at best placebos

I don't believe he was suggesting his remedies were anti-viral but all the things he mentioned are proven and great at revealing symptoms.

Cold remedies that work

Water, juice, clear broth or warm lemon water with honey helps loosen congestion and prevents dehydration

Sip warm liquids. A cold remedy used in many cultures, taking in warm liquids, such as chicken soup, tea or warm apple juice, might be soothing and might ease congestion by increasing mucus flow.

My commiserations, but being of Greek heritage WHY have you not mentioned the 'G' word? Garlic.

Huh

Psychiatrists have long since known that colds and 'flus are directly related to your psychological well being.

The old fresh lemon juice drink warm - not boiled to kill the goodness - add some crushed garlic, and a spoonful of natural antibiotic honey NO BOILING WATER to kill it - and away you go... nice and luke warm is the go.

Try some horseradish for nasal congestion.... doesn't work for everyone...

If you have that grumbling lung sticky goo bronchitis - see the quack for antibiotics.  It's a right bastard and I've had it twice in the last six months.... one of the joys of getting older.

In some quarters it's said that a series of visits to your local Madame Lash will beat the bugs out of your system soon enough. The rubbers and leathers and the Hannibal Lecter mask are all supplied at these therapy sessions.

In Ajax's case I suggest he ask Effie to step into the role of dominatrix just for the duration of this nasty cold. If she's agreeable, Ajax and I can go as a pair ...

... er, not quite. You and I will be tethered to different eye-bolts set into the dank and mouldy dungeon walls .. with meanwhile the high-stepping and delectable Effie will treat us as separate clients while whipping the sh1t out of us.

So true!

Cold? Get 'active' !
Flu?? Go to bed (De-activate)!

I always sweat my Colds out and the duration of my Cold is both minimal in intensity and days with it.

Flus on the other hand, I go straight to bed and let the Flu have its wicked way with me. Inactivity and rest don't 'aggravate' the Flu and again, the duration is minimalized. A few days in bed, is better than weeks feeling crap!

Of course, you can 'sterilise' yourself with the 'immortality' shots of Flu-Jabs, etc that Western (Technologically superior but common-sense inferior) Medicine is 'infecting' everyone with.
Of course, you will become highly 'dependent' on the Flu-Jab until you are like a Diabetic who can't 'live' without their shot.  Wink

The Cold & Flu are good for you.
They build your 'immune' system ...
naturally.

You can lessen their 'sufferings' though to a more comfortable and consistent existence.
...I get Colds/Flu's often - but they are very minimal impacts and go towards my strong constitution.
I'm going to live to 111 (Devils Number) - just to piss a lot of women off!  Grin
