Australia is a bit slow.
Venison has been served in the top restaurants in New Zealand for many years. It's a quality meat and not too different to Kangaroo in taste.
Then again, everything happens in New Zealand, before Australia. Hell, they had 'drug tests' by Police over there since I was 11.
Coles/Woolworths: Meat has gone back up to those really expensive prices around 2013-4, where people had to change to cheaper meats like Kangaroo and Camel.
Ironically now - Camel, Kangaroo, Venison, Boer and Alpaca are all very expensive 'Gourmet' meats in blister packs. Funny how in just 5 years they can all jump $20 in price.
Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken - all low quality to average quality meats. Also many are so produced, especially Pork & chicken in very poor mass-production (lack of) quality.
Give me Venison, Kangaroo, Camel, Alpaca, Duck meats anytime.
I've recently tried Buffalo: a very dark and tasty meat. Reminded me of a meat that was as if it was like 'smoked'.
Stupid Australians though - can't and are too afraid to be 'different' to the USA/UK.
