You are missing the point. Why are we exporting AND importing meat? Its obviously nothing to do with the price they get from overseas and more to do with those stupid trade agreements.

disgraceful footage.
if one of my staff put one of my animals into those sort of conditions, they would be tossed overboard by myself.

but how disgraceful of the animal libbers to sit on this for 6 months whilst they did a deal with media outlets.

the green (yellow) coward who was filming this should have personally gone and punched the captain of this ship flush on the nose .

Here in Sydney we've just been treated to the spectacle of how the top echelons of our banking and lending industries are packed with liars, crooks, unconscionable bastards, and criminals of the worst kind ~ and so any statements made by the top brass in the livestock industry should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt until the results of independent investigation.

Trust no one when it comes to practicing a little 'taqiya' to keep the profit margins from shrinking.

I will try and explain.

Meat isn't meat.

Well I mean there are all sorts of cuts of meat, age of meats, species of meat.

We dont eat a lot of goat in Australia, other countries love it.
So we have too much for us the price is low in Australia,,,, find a market that will pay more.

We have shitloads of sheep meat, but we dont eat enough of the older animals here to get the price that you can get overseas,,, find a market.
Not Japan, they cant tolerate the smell of sheep meat cooking(insert trivia point)
We can send hamburger beef to the US,,, not so much prime cuts.
India may take goats, pork and sheep meat,,, not so much beef.

Meat is a multi faceted commodity,,,, plus our product has quotas for entering some countries,,, free trade has not caught up to agriculture just yet

I dont really have to spell this out do I???
