Canberras light rail continues to move along, apparently finished by end of year

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Can you see any obstacles in the Sydney constriction that Can'tborough doesn't have?

Liberal government?

Funny. Wide streets, almost no people in CanBoring Smiley

Anyway, Labor ripped the tracks up and it took a Liberal Govt to put it back.

Suck on this....

Closure was supported by the NRMA, but generally went against public opinion. Nevertheless, closure became
Labor government policy
and the system was wound down in stages, with withdrawal of the last service,

You really want to compare Canberra traffic to Sydney?

Talking of Labor disasters - what about their unaffordable NeverBuiltNetwork ?

Sydney is vastly bigger and more complex than simple boring freezing Canberra with peak hour traffic of 10 cars.

No I'm simply saying that the roads the tram are going down are currently not that wide, and in peak hour in particular resemble Sydney.

Not a frigging chance Smiley

Did you see what happened when a numpty climbed the SHB the other day, traffic queues back in every direction that took all day to clear.

It took me 45 mins from Point Piper to Rushcutters Bay. You have no bloody idea what Sydney traffic is like.

Apart from the fact I actually lived in Sydney for 10 years. ANd I said resembled. I.e. its a temporary car park.

But then build the trams hopefully people use them. Build all these great free ways and look the Eastern Distributor is still a damn car park.

In the last 5 years Sydney traffic has gone from sheet to being un-frigging-believable.

If you haven't lived her in that period, you have no idea.

I'm not a Canberra expert, but I know people who live there and work in Sydney off and on, and they dread coming here.

I visit Sydney regularly. I've seen it at its worst. But again, if public transport was better, maybe that wouldnt be the case.

Suburbs in Sydney are bigger than simple cold boring empty Canberra with its public servants.

In Canberra people ride bikes to work as it is all flat country unlike hilly Sydney.
