It's not confusing at all.

You're either a vegan, or you're not a vegan.

There's no such thing as a 'strict vegan', in dietary terms (there might be vegans who are strict parents, but you would call them strict parents - not strict vegans).

To make it easier for you, there are:

- vegetarians

- vegans

- lacto vegetarians

- ovo vegetarians

- lacto-ovo vegetarians

- pollotarians

- pescatarians

- flexitarians

- fruitarians

Have I missed any?

My mother is 89 and thinks shes a pescatarian but well she eats bacon occasionally. Hahahaha Guess we need a name for that too.

My daughter went veg at about six or so - lots of little girls do - but she would eat a sausage roll.... not meat... now she's an omnivore in the best traditions of the family...

I did a bit of research in it—some customers at the brewshop had to switch to gluten free beers (VERY limited range, I told them to learn to malt buckwheat.) But most were wheat intolerant because of additives in the wheat. I would hate to have to do without bread (sourdough wholemeal or rye) or beer! I have a fall back—cider, in a few years that is.
