Keating is still our royal fool
Apr 2nd, 2018 at 5:51pm

Jeez this clown can't stay out of the limelight and will say anything moronic thing to be heard. He became irrelevant 20 years ago, now it is time to do what all good ex-PMs do, shut up and take the money.

Former prime ministers Paul Keating and Tony Abbott have clashed over what Prince Charles may or may not think about Australia ditching the monarchy.
On the eve of the Commonwealth Games Mr Keating has claimed the heir to the British throne supports Australia becoming a republic and would welcome not having to "pretend" one day to be the country's head of state.
Former prime minister Paul Keating says he believes Prince Charles supports Australia becoming a republic.
Former prime minister Paul Keating says he believes Prince Charles supports Australia becoming a republic.

But the former Labor leader's comments have angered monarchist Mr Abbott, who has suggested it's not true.
"Prince Charles would just want to do his duty and he shouldn't be verballed by an ex-PM," the former Liberal prime minister and now right-wing backbencher posted on Twitter.
Another senior right-wing Liberal, Eric Abetz, also rounded on Mr Keating, accusing him of mounting "self-serving and egotistical" arguments for a republic.

"Mr Keating's musings clearly have no basis in fact and are just a sad feature of the latest Republican push," the Tasmanian senator said in a statement.
Mr Keating advocated for a republic when he led the country and used an opinion piece in London's The Sunday Times to again make that argument.

Exactly, and who cares what a waste of space like Abbott thinks. He dragged this country ten years backwards in the two years he was PM and should be deported back to his home country now.

Care factor zero

My favourite Paul Keating story was when I was at the Domestic Terminal as Mascot one day and a crowd of media were waiting at the arrivals lounge

Out walked Keating and he scowled at the Media but no need to

They were there for someone far more relevant than that has been

Wish I could have taken a shot of his shocked expression as he walked away without anyone paying him a skerrick of attention Grin

the reason prince charles is encouraging this is because everything is privatized now , the front companies of the queen ( the road toll companies, ports , rail , energy water companies all front companies of the queen ) are all operational and in place ..

what of all the crown land *

the 'republic' would have to buy it all wouldn't they ?

its just business you landless peasants

You mean like the time when Keating was treasurer but didn't put in his tax return. Now there's real intelligence for you.

So what you are saying is that if you are a multi-millionaire and have better things to do than completing your tax returns on time, it's all well and good.

Because not filling out a tax return for a few years is.

It isn't a crime to declare your financial interests in another country, it is a crime to not submit your tax returns.

So one of our PM is an un-convicted criminal and one isn't.

Don't quote me on this, but when I chose not to bother doing Tax Returns for 3 or 4 years, I eventually got called in for a chat with some chaps at the Tax Office.
They asked if I would pretty please do my tax, because they do not like loose ends, and because they owed me money, rather than I owing them, I had not broken any laws, and it was just a formality.

Now I do not know if what they said was true at the time, in the 1970's, or ever, or they were just being nice, because I was not being a jerk to them, and just went to sort it out as easily as possible.
So long and short was, you owe them, bad.
They owe you, forget about it. (Donnie Brasco?)

I would not say that Keating is a fool, in fact he can be very sharp witted at times, but putting his arm around the Queen was a preconceived insult to the institution of the Crown.

Paul Keating was possibly the greatest politician Australia has ever produced.

But he sure f@rked this country good and proper tying our dollar to the green back selling public cash cows like CBA and Telstra to the oligarchy and introducing neo liberalism backing free trade and globalisation.

No wonder he was voted Treasurer of the year.

When he floated our dollar it when from near equivalent to half of the value of the green back, then the oligarchy waltzed into Australia and bought up everything for half price.

Being a great politician doesn't necessarily mean you have done great things for your country, he just excelled at being a politician.

Oh and he does come from an Irish background so I can understand his stance towards the royals.

Keating was just a raven-haired 'car salesman' Politician and like those Brunette 'spin doctors', they can only practice Politics based upon the past.

Thank god more Rangas and Blonde males are getting into Politics and taking it into the 'future'.

I could definitely say Kerry O'Brien (ABC) would have made a better Politician than Juliar Gillard or Pauline Hanson as far as 'Rangas' go in this country.

I pissed on the Lodge front step when Keating was in power and I was living in Kirribilli. Grin
