Rules About Racism
Mar 22nd, 2018 at 10:54am

I was listening to something about racism on the radio this morning.

Got me to thinking about the rules of this forum.

"Discussion of racism and race related political issues is encouraged. However, politically correct language should be used when making criticism of racial policies or groups. Racism will be judged in a similar way to pornography – that is, is the criticism necessary to get a point of view across, or is it a gratuitous attack on a racial group? Note that race is treated differently from religion, which is a matter of choice and is open to the same criticism as political ideology."

Then I started thinking about some recent posts on the forum.

The following are all responses to posts about black people.

Notice the attack on women, in particular.

"... they are all retarded blecks."

"They wouldn't get up off their asses for anything but free grog.

"And who would pay them the role if we left?

"They would starve without maccas or KFC"

"What respectable white man would touch a bleck woman?"

"The blacks are on the rampage, its what they do best, apart from beating the bongo drums."

"Black women smell like old cockles."

"AIDS isn't doing it's job. Too many  blecks are surviving. We need a fresh disease."

"They are sluts. They don't count."

"They've got a funny smell black people. Especially the women."

I avoid threads that engage in excessive, so haven't seen the examples you have provided. It is pretty shocking though. When I see this kind of racism, I can only assume that fear is the main motivating influence; fear of change, fear of difference.

ps. I have done the strike out, in advance as I've noticed that you prefer it that way.

I didn't doubt you Greg. That tread shows that it is still the case, that if you are black and female, attaining the status of respect, is almost impossible. It speaks volumes about those who perpetuate these bias stereotypes .

Yes, unfortunately you are correct.

It still baffles me, though, how such a "gratuitous attack on a racial group" is permitted in this forum.

Sad.

A lovely day, thank you.

Just came back from a nice lunch with friends.

So, where do comments like these stem from:

"The blacks are on the rampage, its what they do best, apart from beating the bongo drums."

"Black women smell like old cockles."

Before you get to carried away go look at reply reply #29 on the Abbot and Dutton are right thread and make some comparisons, I don't know who that person is but it is certainly out there, not that I mind.
I am glad you have had a good day.

Not a single quote from me! Karnal will be very disappointed. You've let the team down by excluding some of my more fruity comments.

But while we're in a fit of moral indignation, let's not withhold the fact that it was Mahatma Gandhi, no less, who thought of the Africans as lazy buggers.

Ah.

"Other people do it, so why can't I?"

Nice work, Herbert.

Would Posting this here be considered RACISM, or just a way of sharing something funny for everyone to enjoy??

They are mostly trolling
These keyboard warriors hide behind the anonymity of the internet and post things that they would be too gutless to say in public.

I no longer engage with them because that's what trolls want you to do, engage.
