Generally speaking, horses hate dogs from ancestral times when wolves were their greatest enemy. Same with cows.

So maybe this horse was 'seeing' small dog-sized predators as these children ran up and down the fence ~ JUST as wolves would have acted prior to a pack assault on an old, sick, or foal horse.

We need Aqua's expertise here.

hi herb and cods.

that behaviour is called mirror behaviour and is very common in young horses.
its part of how they bond with a herd.

indeed horses fear wolves.

horses are prey animals, they are always on the lookout for danger and they are always looking to the alphas (the oldest mare and the strongest stallion ) to lead them thru troubled times.

much like us.

horses are always sizing up every animal they meet to see where that animal fits in the peck order.

my fearless jack russell has no trouble holding horses away from a food bowl full of horse feed (even though he doesnt want to eat it and is just being a prick). because he never backs away.

my wifes doberman which is much larger was kicked by a horse when a puppy and will back away from a horse which makes the horse think that this is a lower beta animal and they will have no trouble making the doberman move out of their way.

same for humans, always stand your ground, be fearless, the horse will submit to your will.

hop on, start shaking, act nervous and indecisive and the horse will freak out and dump you.

this plays into the political arena.

weakness is a deplorable and reprehensible character trait and from an evolutionary point of view, it will be extinguished.

merkel, blair, trudeau, obama....when you are acting in nature and you bring weak energy, you must expect to encourage bullies to take advantage of you.

stand up striaght and dont back down and learn to be a creature that is worthy of respect.

learn to be a putin.

i bet he never gets bucked off

stalin was a psychopathic bully . he was a weak man.
unfortunately, the marxist regimes are always virtue signalling that is masking a will for totalitarian power.
very ugly belief system.

putin is different,
he is a man capable of great havoc but he has incorporated this into his character .
he is a black belt , a painist, handsome, an outdoors adventurer, sophisticated, well read, well spoken,

putin is the 'real deal".
this is the sort of man that doesnt need to stomp on heads to get to the top.
this is the sort of man that other men recognise as the most competant and voluntarily give power to.

this is how civilised men act.

we look around for the bravest, most unflappable, most competant and most noble and we give him the burden of leadership.

a weak marxist bully (like pol pot or stalin or the intellectual elite PC bullies) dont keep the people safe.
they are tyrants.

a strong man like putin is part of a power strutcure that keeps you safe.

people can sense that.
they know when their leader is worthy of that position.

a good leader is not in it for the power, he is in it for the contribution, he is in it to penetrate the world with his noble masculine energy...like Vlad  Wink

I wonder why he bans his opponents from the elections and even arranges assassinations if he is so admired.

Not to mention stacking ballot boxes etc.

Maybe they love him so much they stack the boxes out of love.

Great man sold off most of the saleable government assets to hi oligarch
mates.

Great man put government control on the Russian media so as to stifle any criticism

i'm surprised the lefties dont like vlad, he kicked out the stinking oligarchs who were the pigs at the trough of the marxist animal farm.
he has given the people a sense of pride.

how proud could you be with a clown like Boris Yelstin at the helm.
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.

lefties just dont get it.
they think that their "compassion masking uselessness" ideology is worthy of power.
its not.
nature has decided what is worthy of power and it is strength, nobility, reverence, courage , persitence, sacrifice and tolerance to stress.

snowflakes need not apply

Yes but why does he need to do the above if he is so loved and admired!

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

in 2015, the Russian economy was the sixth largest in the world by PPP and twelfth largest at market exchange rates. Between 2000 and 2012 Russia's energy exports fueled a rapid growth in living standards, with real disposable income rising by 160%.[38] In dollar-denominated terms this amounted to a more than sevenfold increase in disposable incomes since 2000.[39] In the same period, unemployment and poverty more than halved and Russians' self-assessed life satisfaction also rose significantly.[40] This growth was a combined result of the 2000s commodities boom, high oil prices, as well as prudent economic and fiscal policies.

Does this horse feel it's being teased?

I'm not too sure Stalin and Putin are entirely relevant to this question.

Putin is KGB. Putin hates the West. He hates Western Democracies and their freedoms. He is a ruthless authoritarian. This is someone you admire?

apologies herb, we drifted off topic.

putin is an excellent horseman by the way.

you cant really "tease' a horse.

a horse will feel pressure and as a flight animal it will flee or it will feel respect and as a herd animal it will behave as you have trained it to behave.

how am i able to walk up to a horse and put a rope around its neck in a very large paddock where it could easily outrun me?
because i have taught it that i am the alpha and it accepts this.
it actually finds comfort in this.

if i were to put a novice rider on one of my horses the first thing that horse would do is walk over and stand next to me and look to me for directions.

the betas always feel less anxiety when in the presence of calm and assertive energy.

thats why if you want to run a farm, a business, a family, a relationship or a country, then you must be calm and assertive and alpha at all times.  even though this is a huge burden, you must never ever ever show weakness or indecision.  the mental health of the herd depends on this fact
