McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle brings down ISIS boss
Mar 19th, 2018 at 8:27pm

That's one hell of a shot from a mile away in the dark ...

The British are allowing over 100 ISIS terrorists back into Britain but shoot them out in the field, so to speak.

The people who run Britain are human garbage not deserving of any respect at all.

Collective guilt for dereliction of duty to the public does not exonerate Britain one iota. They are a bunch of Cultural Marxist idiots who formulate policy.

The sniper had 15 seconds to take his shot as the extremist pulled up in a car. The source said the extremist was killed instantly after being shot in the back of the head.

You would think that the Muslims may start to question if Allah is really on their side.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke!

Hmm - Guards Squadron... photo is an M-14 .. not bad for every day use with a scope and far out-ranges the 5.56 round... far greater range than the AK, too.... I reckon there's still a place for 7.62 longs such as the M-14 and the M-60, but obviously Ops in Afghanistan etc disagree....

A lot comes into it at that range - any breeze, any heat diversion of the air, any slight 'off' in the shooter's aim.. all can multiply to up to 6 feet or more ... even a slight deviation can lead to a miss of two feet....

Good shot and Allah was definitely with it...

'Here's the video' says Herbert.  Yet it has zero to do with the OP other than it is the same rifle.

I note the date of the Article in the OP.....but I have a suspicion this event occurred some time ago.  Nothing new, in other words.

Herbert.....when did that actual incident occur?

That bullet would have been traveling faster than sound - right? So the quarry knew nothing as his head exploded. There are a lot harder ways to die. His God was a merciful God.

He got 'be-headed', but not in the Muslim way. What goes around comes around.

A 50 cal to the head will tend to remove all of the head from the neck up.

We should under no circumstance be letting our home grown terrorists back in the country, but allowing our snipers to free fire these fkkheads until they are all gone.

From what I gather, a sniper rifle bullet will travel at half the speed of sound. Assuming that the mark was paying attention to possible opposition firing on him, he probably would have heard the sound of the gunfire. But he would not have had time to do anything about it.

I fired a .303 at a target over 1km from my position. Low wind, stationary object -- there was no concern about the target moving away. I took the shot and hit the target in one go. A standard shot by any sniper in training. Perhaps this guy is getting too much acclaim for doing his duty.

After reviewing the topics on the speed of sound, I must have been mistaken.

When lightning struck in the distance we would start counting ... one ... two .. three ... and depending on what number you got up to before hearing the thunder-clap, that was how many miles away the flash had occurred.

1km/sec is 3600km/hr. Sound does not travel that fast. 1mile/sec is 5760km/hr. I had the impression that sound travelled at 1/3rd the speed of 1km/sec. I would divide the number by 3 and that would be the distance in km where the flash was.

Meanwhile, I still get the life scared out of me of any lightning flash occurring within 100 metres of where I live.
