A 50 cal to the head will tend to remove all of the head from the neck up.

We should under no circumstance be letting our home grown terrorists back in the country, but allowing our snipers to free fire these fkkheads until they are all gone.

From what I gather, a sniper rifle bullet will travel at half the speed of sound. Assuming that the mark was paying attention to possible opposition firing on him, he probably would have heard the sound of the gunfire. But he would not have had time to do anything about it.

I fired a .303 at a target over 1km from my position. Low wind, stationary object -- there was no concern about the target moving away. I took the shot and hit the target in one go. A standard shot by any sniper in training. Perhaps this guy is getting too much acclaim for doing his duty.

After reviewing the topics on the speed of sound, I must have been mistaken.

When lightning struck in the distance we would start counting ... one ... two .. three ... and depending on what number you got up to before hearing the thunder-clap, that was how many miles away the flash had occurred.

1km/sec is 3600km/hr. Sound does not travel that fast. 1mile/sec is 5760km/hr. I had the impression that sound travelled at 1/3rd the speed of 1km/sec. I would divide the number by 3 and that would be the distance in km where the flash was.

Meanwhile, I still get the life scared out of me of any lightning flash occurring within 100 metres of where I live.
