Let them come.

I have several razor sharp knives and swords.

I wont kill them, but they will never try it again.

Hamstrung makes it hard to walk, a nice deep archeilies tendon cut never heals well.

Lop off a hand, open up a face, all are well within the abilities of a well trained master.

Let them come, I can argue in court that I feared for my invalid wife against bigger, younger thugs.

Ill take it to the papers and media.

let them come, we shall see who is most afraid.

And if they get the better of me, thats OK

Ill pay someone to take them out, I have plenty of money and Im happy to pay.

Are you a secret Musso?  Hands, off, swords....

Not on your Nelly.

Muzzos use machete or blunt knives

I use Katana and Damascus bladed knives very sharp
Sharp enough to shave with.

Muzzos are too lazy/stoopid/ barbaric and useless to know how to sharpen a knife or blade correctly.

It takes hours, several grades of stile and finally a good strip to remove the burr.

It would be interesting to see just how easy they woukd part flesh.

Valkie,

Wouldn't a Wakizashi or a cutlass be more suited, indoors [confined spaces] ?

I wouldn't choose a Katana, for indoors!

p.s.
Did you see the scene, in Kill Bill 2........in the caravan/mobile home, with Katanas ?

LOL

Have just honed up 3 of my Tojiros.
Used the medium and fine grit Whetstones then my leather strop.

I was a bit rushed and not very focussed.
One knife has fine chips on the edge.

I trained in hand to hand and knife fighting.
Ideally, I prefer two blades, very sharp Karambit blades to be exact
For close quarters, these are ideal for several reasons.

The Katana is more for show, long blades tend to scare people more, but as you point out, not much good in close quarters.

As for sharpening my blades
I start on a new blade with 320 grit and gradually work down to an Arkansas stone
Then I strip them to remove the microscopic burr that forms on the edge.
To get a nice shiny edge I use 6 diamond paste. On the strop.

The angle is also critical
Too much makes the blade too fragile
Too little and it isn't sharp enough

Sometimes it takes hours and hours
But the end result is a beautifully sharp blade

To preserve the blade, as only carbon steel holds a good edge, I liberally use olive oil
For sharpening and lubricating the stones, baby oil.

They have to be cleaned at least fortnightly, it's a labour of love.

never heard of a 'Karambit blade' or 'strip them to remove the microscopic burr'.

Feel free to educate me

I use a 240, 1000, 3000 and 8000 grit Kasumi whetstones.
Use a diamond plate to flatten the whetstones.
Also a Nagura stone to condition the whetstones.

have calculated the thickness of perspex blocks to give me 15 degrees for various width blades

Strip, should be strop
Bloody spell check

The technique using diamond plate is quite good
But for me, overly expensive
I have never gone to 8000 grit stones
2000, 3000 yes, but never 8000
You be more patient than I

The Arkansas stone is probably very close, though.
The diamond paste does little if any sharpening, it's to polish the edge.
15 Deg, a little sharp for some blades, even my sharpest stay at 20

The stropping removes the near microscopic burr from sharpening
Try it, you will be surprised at the end result.

It's not ILLEGAL to own one, just to take it outside without a valid reason.
I have many martial arts weapons.
All could be classified ILLEGAL except when used for training and demonstration purposes.

And they have to be stored somewhere, so in my house is as good as anywhere.

If the grubberment decided to make owning weapons with edges ILLEGAL.
It would be an interesting exercise in stupidity.
No chainsaws, so trees could not be trimmed
No handsaws, dangerous weapon.
No chisels,  no screwdrivers, no time cutters, no link cutters etc etc etc.

Tradesmen would have to chew the wood, won't that be expensive.

I realize our grubberment have a morbid fear of everything that could be a possible weapon.
But even these buffoons woukd have difficulty enforcing that sort of legislation.

Then, just to be sure, they woukd have to ban martial arts.
And any returned soldiers would have to be Locked up as possible weapons.

No my friend.
It's not ILLEGAL to own most bladed weapons
Just the ones the buffoons think are dangerous.
Like a flick knife is any more dangerous than a fixed blade.
Or a historic officer is a dangerous weapon.
A  1 inch bladed pocket knife.

No wonder our country is in so much trouble, with these deadbeats in charge

Yadda wrote on Mar 11th, 2018 at 7:25am:

Is it OK to take [from others] what we don't have ?

Q.
Is it OK to take, what someone else has, because we don't have what [or as much as] they have ?
[Q.    is that the 'morality', which is being imbued into the psyche, of many individuals today, by the mores of society ?]

There seems to be a lot of robbery [i.e. stealing, with violence or with a threat of violence] going on in our suburbs today.

It is on our TV news bulletins almost every night.

The home invasions, the terrified victims, with broken faces.

"Give me your money!"

"Give me your smart phone!"

"Give me your car keys!"

Dictionary;
rob (robbery) = = take property unlawfully from (a person or place) by force or threat of force.

Dictionary;
steal = = take (something) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.

Q.
Is this the society that we want, or that we would choose to live in ?

Q.
Is this the society that the individuals who choose to do robberies and stealing, would choose [for themselves] to live in ?
Really ?

Q.
Why can't we all see ['compute'], that it is always wrong, to simply take, what does not belong to us ?

Do some people here think that question [my Q.], is unrealistic, or that it 'speaks' of originating in the mind of a naive individual ?

QUESTION;
What is the measure of a 'civilised society' ?

i.e.
What is the measure [definition] of the 'civilised' individual ?

MY OPINION;
No matter how poor a person 'perceives' himself to be, that does not give us the right to engage in robbery or stealing from others.

Psalms 25:3
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4  Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Excuse me, Y, is this a trick question?
