its pretty shocking isnt it.....smashing elderly people and robbing them.... they will never get over it...
what the hell is going on in Melb.....maybe its time all homes had camera surveillance ... ye gods its sounds like Sth Africa.
Even with surveillance, the police know who they are, yet not much seems to be happening, except when they are caught, get a slap on the wrist?
Talking of surveillance, we had a couple of young tradies come in to buy a door to replace the one on their van a couple of days ago, they were parked at Parkmore shopping centre in Keysborough.
Their van window side door was smashed in broad daylight and stole their work tools.
When they came back to their van, the security guards were there waiting, to let them know what happened.
When the tradies enquired about the CCTV cameras and to find out who did it......the security guards told them, the cameras are not working.
So there is false assurance with the BS of thinking you are going to be protected with any crime caught on video?
These young tradies are going to the Ombudsman to make a complaint against the shopping centre regarding the cameras being non functioning, and only there to fool the people.
All this time, we were thinking that the more cameras, the better we feel, but not the case, when you hear about the fact cameras are not working, at a large shopping centre even.
So......what do we do?
Start phoning shopping centres asking if the cameras are all good and functioning properly? So we can safely park our vehicles to shop in their building?
I would think in a place like Melb it would be mandatory for all shopping centres in this day and age to have the best of cameras and if not working a big FINE.... we are like it or not getting more violent....we do have a right to be protected.....duty of care.......
if I lived in Melb I would instal cameras for sure....
