I've nearly run out of space.

It needs liposuction.

What's the best way of doing this?

Delete your overloaded porn video files. Might save you a few gigabytes of space.

Or get yourself an external hard drive and transfer storage there.

System reserved is http://www.thewindowsclub.com/system-reserved-partition-windows

D: is to store data on and is empty, you can use it to copy stuff to, like your movies, pictures and porn or use partitioning software to double the size of C: by removing D: and expanding C:
You could also do something like move everything in "My Docs" to D: and mount d: on  "My Docs" folder in your user directory or something.

er .. thanks, Set.  Undecided

Go and talk to your computer people and ask them to expand C: drive using D: drive.

Feel free to take my posts with you. There's a good case to be made for having "my Docs" or your home dir c:/users/Herb on D: mounted on C:/users/Herb. You would only need to backup D: for example in that case. The point is you have a lot of free space but have no idea how to use it.

At your suggestion I've just done it.

Free space: 20.4GB (of 221GB) ~ 242,500 files.

And then there's a colourful list, but what I'm supposed to do with it, I don't know.

Right click on C drive then click on Format, that should clear up all your disk space.  Grin

Open up the C drive in treesizefree. It should then show you how much memory each folder takes up. If you open each folder it will show the same for the subfolders. It allows you to prioritise the worst offending folders.

I've bookmarked your comments for action tomorrow.

Smiley No probs.

What I think I'll do is go to Office Works and buy a bunch of Flash Drives and move a lot of my stuff into them.

I have a hard drive dock so i back up files to another hard drive which had very little use. Plugs in with USB 3.

Made it easier to transfer music files etc to other computers.

You could probably pick up hard drive and dock for around $120 which would hold 10X what flash drives hold for same money.
