He DIED in 2013.

Read died of the illness on 9 October 2013, aged 58, in Parkville, Victoria.

Four hours? I watched both episodes online. They were both clocked at just over 1 hour each. Great show, though. It's either Breaking Bad or this Underbelly series as my favourite tv series.
