North and South Korea are competing as Korea.

This is one of the better things I have seen in sport.

Wait for the Koreans to turn on each other. They were practically fighting to hold the flag during the opening ceremony.

No one has defected from North Korea yet which is surprising, no missiles nothing, are the North and South getting back together again!
The Skeleton was good to watch today, dare devils.
Australia has three medals, three more than i expected, we will probably do better in the ballet type events.

I was expecting two gold medals. One in the half-pipe, and one in the aerials. Morris to yet be the remaining gold medal chance. Scott James deserved more than his bronze medal.

You may have a reception issue, try pointing the rabbit ears to the North by North East.

Australia still on three medals, they seem to be finding the ice and snow very slippery.

The North Korean 500m speed skater was a bit of a worry.  I wouldn't like to be him when he returns home.

He is toast, or Kim will make him Chief Strategist in the Army as a hero, he should put his skates on and start defecting.

Australia doing well  in the medal tally compared to North Korea.

TO most families, a bronze medal at age 33 — the oldest ever for an alpine skier — would be considered a proud accomplishment, but apparently not to Lindsey Vonn’s father.

In an emotional third-place finish in her likely final women’s downhill Wednesday, Vonn fought tears while explaining just how special this medal was to her after finishing behind Italy’s Sofia Goggia and Norway’s Ragnhild Mowinckel.

FOLLOW ALL THE NEWS FROM PYEONGCHANG BELOW

“I wanted to win so much for him,” Vonn, referring to her late grandfather, Don Kildow, said after the race. “But I still think I made him proud. Our family never gives up, and I kept working hard and I’m really proud of this medal. I know he is, too.”

Her pride in the event wasn’t replicated by her father, Alan Kildow.

“It’s great skiing, but it reminds me of something that Buddy Werner used to say,” Kildow told USA Today Sports, referring to a US skier from the 1950s. “He said there’s two places in the race, first and last, and I only want one of them.”

what a horrible thing to say..

just being there deserves a medal in my book....these athletes seem fearless.

can anyone tell me    without the obvious answers..

what the difference is in the half pipe with snowboards
and skis?.... they both seem to do the same tricks...both need to land on their feet...

why are they not the same thing. Roll Eyes

The snowboards look more at home in the half pipe rather than skis flapping around, I am waiting for the downhill toboggan race.

Snowboards and skiis require a different skill set. Otherwise, they would integrate the snowboards and skiis into much the same events.

Once.....just once.....TIB, two kids, and I went to the Snowy Mountains.

TIB said, wisely.....piss off.  I had a go.  Made it to 'snow plough' status and then joined TIB at the Bar.

Kids.....no worries.

Problem is.....not snow.....it is icey, hard icey.

Cute, cuddly, soft snow......nah!

Yeah, I mean, who would'a thought that Australians from a desert region and barely any snow fields could find it easy going on snow and ice? I hear crickets chirping on that answer.

There has got to be an innovation award for having to train on grass slopes and doing aerials into ponds.

A few years ago in western Qld, there were news reports of moderate snowfall. It has come close to snowing around this town. But conditions are never quite right for snow. I have been up to the mountains during the middle of winter, one year. The humid night did have enough moisture to make it look like it was lightly snowing.

Probably not live...but bloody good game for the Gold Medal in ice-hockey on now.  Ch 7.  Germany v Russia.  2 all in the 3rd term.

3 all at the end of that.  Another 20 mins and I dunno if it is sudden death.

They probably all have broken collar bones after being slammed against the barrier as they do, it should be played on a bigger field so they can get some speed up and slam that puck home.
Closing ceremony tonight, we will probably win that event.

Ice hockey seems to be a pretty tough, skilled sport. It is one of those sports Americans play that I actually respect. The other being basketball.

To be more specific, cricket is another game that Americans play that I like. But cricket is not a game that is recognised as a national sport of America. Much like baseball is not a recognised national sport of Australia. Ice hockey is fairly well known in America. It does not matter that it was a national sport like baseball in America. Just that the United States plays it quite widespread.
