It is worth noting that the message went on to say that it was a NK NUCLEAR missile.

I haven't seen that.

Do you have a screen shot?

This is the only one I've seen:

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/660/cpsprodpb/8258/production/_99586333_missle.jpg

Teh info came from a HAwaii resident being interviewed on MSNBC who said that further info said it was a NK nuke.

Cheers.

That's not quite right, though.

The lady who said that made a mistake.

Watch the video:

http://www.msnbc.com/weekends-with-alex-witt/watch/hawaii-resident-shares-experi...

"... or something like that ... to that effect".

There was no further info mentioning a NK nuclear bomb.

Now they know what will happen if there is a ballistic missile attack on most American cities....There would be chaos with no one knowing what to do....Now America can have that debate with media telling the population what they should do in case of a real attack and politicians using the event for domestic political gain....Make America safe again???

Perhaps someone accidentally hit the wrong button twice or perhaps it was a ploy to ramp up tensions in the US people.

If that was the case - it worked!

only peccahead could debate the pedantry of the situation.

If a warning comes of a ballistic missile in the current NK situation, the assumption would be that it was nuclear.
And yes, Nukes are survivable. it depends on where you are and what shelter you have.  Ballistic missiles typical have smaller nukes than those dropped from bombers although still in the 1-3MT range. Also the assumption is that the missile would hit its presumed target which is a lot harder than you think. Soviet ballstic missiles were so inaccurate that hitting the right country was a challenge, nevermind the right city or target.

it must have been spooky to get that message however.

Nobody's on your side, Fuzz.

"The is NO escape from a nuclear bomb, so any alarm system is a total waste of time........"

You're still an idiot peccahead.

You do realise that the nukes today are probably 40/50/100 times bigger than the Japanese bombs............

Hawaii, the big island would be vaporised, and the blast would probably take out the small islands as well............

Survival, wouldn't be an option.........

I'm not the one saying they'd survive - that was Booby and Longy.

I'm saying that there was no mention of NK or nuclear bombs in the message.

It is doubtful that Kim could put an H bomb on a nuclear missile
so it would more likely be the size of the Hiroshima explosion.

Also - it is unlikely that he could target close to where he wanted &
whether his missiles could survive re -entry without breaking up.

Doubtful......... that's the attitude booby.........we are talking about Hawaii aren't we.............now do you seriously think NK would send a missile which just explodes with no nuclear yield........and risk the US ICBM retaliation for a moderate result?

Use that little pea of a brain booby..........

If NK ever sends a missile to US territory, it WILL be a nuclear equipped warhead................Incidentally booby, the warhead is nuclear NOT the fvvken missile, the missile is just a vehicle....... Wink

The title of this thread concerns a 'false alarm' from Hawaii about a missile attack............unless you know something the CIA and others don't know, I still think you were posting nonsense.....

Why?

The only large bomb they ever let off was between 100 Kt & 170 Kt in size.
It might have been an enhanced Uranium bomb & not an H bomb.

Have there been any tests of NK missiles where the missile didn't break up on re-entry?
Don't think so.

That means I'm right.
