Israel expelling Africans

The Israeli government has issued a notice for thousands of African migrants to leave the country or face imprisonment.

The migrants will be given up to $3,500 (£2,600) for leaving within the next 90 days.

They will be given the option of going to their home country or third countries.

If they do not leave, the Israeli authorities have threatened that they will start jailing them from April.

The UN refugee agency said the controversial plan violated international and Israeli laws.

◾Israel's unwanted African migrants

The Israeli government says their return will be humane and "voluntary".

The order exempts children, elderly people, and victims of slavery and human trafficking.

A spokesperson for Israel's Population and Immigration Authority told the BBC there were currently 38,000 "infiltrators" in Israel, of whom just 1,420 were being held in detention facilities.

Israel uses the term "infiltrators" to describe people who did not enter the country through an official border crossing.

Many of the migrants - who are mostly from Eritrea and Sudan - say they came to Israel to seek asylum after fleeing persecution and conflict, but the authorities regard them as economic migrants.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that an unchecked influx of African migrants could threaten Israel's Jewish character.

Israel must survive. The destruction of Israel is unthinkable because it will be the beginning of a complete cataclysm. The destruction of Israel will trigger the destruction of most of the rest of the ME.
That's why it hasn't happened for 70 years and will never happen. Unless a global hegemon like Rome turns on Israel, it will survive. It's in everyone's interest, especially its enemies'. The Saudies and Iranians will not outlive Israel, that's why they are snarling at each other rather than join forces against Israel.i

An interesting question. Most left wing governments provide a social safety net to their citizens. They attempt to make sure that no one suffers from poverty and have adequate access to health care. They seek to prevent conflict with their neighbours. Israel hasn't seriously attempted the last thing since before the Six Day War.

Personally, I don't give one whit for the existence or otherwise of any other nation, except Australia. All other nations are merely markets for us, oh, and some place to play sport against and occasionally fight over.

Israel was created on the basis of a lie. It cannot be undone but it needs to be acknowledged. The lie is either that the Jews owned the place - they demonstrably did not in 1948 or that it was an empty land - which it obviously was not.

Israel should have been created as a multi-racial, multi-religious, multicultural state - it was not. Today, the Palestinians are forced to live with that decision. It is unfair and the Israelis should be ashamed of the way they treat the Palestinians whose land they occupy and steal. Some do, some don't. More to their shame.

If Israel ceased to exist tomorrow it would be a sad event but it would only be a cataclysm for the tiny minority of Jews who live there. No one else would really care. Some would in fact be joyous - to their shame. It would solve one of the world's most intractable problems though.

Do I want to see Israel destroyed? As I've said, not really but I don't really care, either. I am neither Jewish, nor Christian or Muslim.

Of course you'd like to see Israel destroyed. Of course you'd like to see it replaced by a multicultural society, because that would mean curtains for a Jewish homeland, a refuge for the Jews again being driven out of Europe by your multicultural Muslim friends.

The Irony is that those "Africans"are actually real Jewish people descendants of Abraham
and those who expel them are Khazari (Ashkenazi) or fake Jews.

The dishonesty is on your behalf, Bogarde. Have you forgotten who perpetrated the Holocaust? Christians, in Europe, against the Jews. They killed approximately 10 million people - six million of them Jews. After WWII, the Jews fled Europe. They knew what the Christian attitude towards their presence was, only too well.

The Muslims are learning similar attitudes towards their presence from some prejudiced Europeans. Shame on Europe, shame on bigots and Islamophobes. Tsk, tsk. Roll Eyes
