Christmas Lunch / Dinner
Dec 9th, 2017 at 9:26pm

Christmas lunch just landed at our place this year, not really happy as we are with infant but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I'll be doing most of it so it's going to be far from traditional.

Bbq lamb cutlets
Some high quality beef and pork sausags
A big free range chicken done on the rotisserie bbq
Bbq prawns
Mix of roast veggies
Salads
Variety of bread
Fruit platter

Sound ok?

Sounds great Gordon.   What is more Aussie than a BBQ?

Far better than a hot kitchen right?

Where is that Gordy?

I used to have an amazing butcher in Sydney but he is about a 40 minute drive for me now so I rarely go there.   I thought about going out to get one of his xmas hams but I think I might not even get a whole ham this year.

I might just pre-order a kg of thinly sliced ham off the bone.

Soz didn't see your reply,

That's Vics Meats at the fish markets. This is a retail outlet of one of the best meat wholesalers around, they also own Victor Churchill in Woollahra.

The som tum was a last minute decision when I was shopping yesterday as I saw some lovely green papaya. It goes incredibly well with lamb!!

They conceded that Dutch food is terribly drab Smiley

Good onya, Gregg. You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

If ONLY I could find the time away from the keyboard I'd be doing the same thing.  Cool

Apparently volunteering for Christmas day does little to help homeless etc.

It sounds nice, does nothing for the other 364 nights.

It actually encourages a bludging mentality, and of course the homeless are in the main a collection of people who in their heyday were a pain in the arse to their families and society at large for reasons of moral degeneracy, domestic violence, sloth, and criminality.

But if feeding these bastards in their ragged old age gives you a good feeling, then why not?
