No it wouldn't.
You can already pretty much pay for everything electronically now if you choose to. Minor purchases can be made with tap-and-go and even smart phones.

You misunderstood me Barney.

People with cash money can spend it on "things" and keep the money circulating

1. The USA is a 4th World Economic disaster.
2. The USA invents the 'Cashless' Economy.
3. People with cash spend 80% less than those who just 'tap & go' (over 3,000 trials on this were conducted).
4. Australian Government is trying to scuttle the Cash system with any excuse. Cash in the Public Pocket is better kept than in the Government's Cashless Tax Scam.
5. Australian Public more wealthier than the Australian Government? Don't laugh - it's closer than you think!
6. The PM position always serves the USA (The Gov-General position always serves the UK ...the UK serves the USA anyway!  Roll Eyes ) - not Australia!

So don't give up on CASH just because the Government doesn't want
YOU
(the Public) to have it
...OVER THEM.

Mind you. Saying this. Australians being the total arsewipes of the USA who say "Jump" and Australians say "How High?". Will have a Cashless system soon.
As Kim Jong Un says "Australia is the Dog of the USA"
Yep - he's right. Australia begs like a dog for the USA.

Turnbull talks tough to the Queen saying we are Independently worthy of having a
Republic...

...while being totally 'dependent' on the USA for everything!

What an absolute WANK!

That was the alibi..  a lie by another name...

On R & D - does Jo Bloggsanous and her identical twin brother Joe get to deduct their uni fees and efforts to find a better job?  No - they get to hold a student loan and pay it back and cover all the costs of attending as well, including expensive short-run books etc ... so why not have The Guv LOAN R & D money to corporations and have them pay it back and remove it from their deductions?

You  see here the vast and persistent difference between the bonded or indentured servant class and the ruling class... these days the ruling class isn't the big sheep or cattle farmer in WA - it is the faceless corporation*

* who don't 'provide employment' but rather use employed people to generate profit - what a piss poor argument that is for robbing the till.... Luigi Mehajerani runs a coffee shop and employs Jo as above part-time casual... Luigi regularly removes masses of cash from the till and spirits it away out of the business to pay for his four a year visits to The Old Country with family, saying that without doing so he would be unable to pay Jo and he needs that money to research the coffee shop market and equipment etc that he never changes anyway ....... what possible moral or legal position does Luigi hold in doing so?.........

What's costing the economy billions is corporate/ multinational tax avoidance.

Always going for the little guy is our ATO.

Tried tacking on Kerry Packer once ..... lost.

ExxonMobil has made $25 BILLION in Australia in the last 3 financial years and has paid no tax in each of those 3 years.

Despite all Turdbulls & the LNP talk about reigning this in their paltry program ...... is just a would, could, may pile of nothing.

They just keep screwing the little bloke who cant avoid tax.

As for no warranty for cashy work ..... if you know the Tradie what's the big deal?

I usually don't hire strangers.

If this is still the case, I think the Exxon USA loans money to Exxon Australia, thus requiring pay back which causes a tax loss in Australia. And Exxon USA is in Wilmington Delaware which lets them get away with all kinds of tax rorts of the US system. Nifty huh?

But back to the issue, I will pay certain people with cash, and I'm not interested in anyone's moralising about it.

The GST only fixes it if it is a business expense. They are essentially tax deductable, but you need a receipt, and that receipt creates a paper trail.

It does not work for retail sales, because the buyer has no need for a receipt.

There will always be a 'Black Economy', that's the nature of free enterprise. Most tradies will always be happy to cut a deal if cash is available and of course it would start with a GST free transaction, with no receipts or invoices.........

barney ,,, you are obviously a clean skin when it comes to the cash economy.

You must not leave a record of your spending , just in case you get a tax audit.
It would be hard to explain how you spent twice as much as you earn.

My Italian friends in the building industry get audited from time to time.
One chap had the auditor counting the bricks in his house to see if a cash deal had been done with the brickie.
Its quite easy to get undone by cash,,, there are a lot of things you cant do with it.

If you were being  facetious or sarcastic with your original comment it would have helped if you had used a  Wink. Otherwise I just take it at face value.
