Not the least bit surprised. These "Christians" are dangerous.

then why the need to emphasise evangelical Christians

it surely is HATE

just as if gordy had started a thread on Muslim men  abusing their   wives..

which we all know he would never do!

Well, because research shows that the men most likely to abuse their wives are evangelical Christians.

It's pretty much the crux of the whole article in the OP, cods.

The only hatred here, seems to be coming from you.

ABC church report ‘misrepresented us’, say experts

The Australian12:00AM July 26, 2017

Two US experts whose research was relied on by an ABC 7.30 television report claiming “sporadic” Christian church-goers are the worst wife-beaters say they were misrepresented, and the real message is that regular church attendance discourages domestic violence.

Phoenix Seminary theology and ethics professor Steven Tracy and sociologist Bradford Wilcox also said the ABC journalists said to have spent a year working on the religion and domestic violence series did not contact them either before or since the program went to air last week.

Writing in The Australian today, Professor Wilcox, who is director of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia, says of a related ABC online article written by ABC journalists Julia Baird and Hayley Gleeson: “The story fails the basic journalistic test of fairness by presenting an almost completely negative picture of Christian approaches to domestic abuse, one that does not square with the evidence that church-going couples, in America at least, appear to be less likely to suffer domestic violence and more likely to enjoy happy marriages.”

In a statement to The Australian last night, Baird and Gleeson said: “There are just two sentences in our work that relate to Wilcox’s study ... his findings were incidental to ours.”

The 7.30 program received a rebuke from Paul Barry, the presenter of the ABC’s Media Watch program on Monday, who told the television audience: “We reckon the headlines the ABC used to sell the story misrepresented Professor Tracy’s research.”

In the online article, Baird and Gleeson cited a 2008 paper by Professor Tracy as the source for this assertion.

But 7.30 made no mention of the key finding that “there is an inverse relationship between church attendance and domestic violence … conservative Protestant men who attend church regularly are found to be the least likely group to engage in domestic violence.”

Typical bollocks from the ABC.

Ahhh!

So we make no distinction between the various 'sects' of Christianity, we just tar them all with the same brush.

Where is the defence about these people being just a 'tiny minority' and not truly representative of the majority, hmm?

No argument? Nothing in rebuttal?

Sort of defeats your own diatribes about the persecution of certain religious groups you regularly defend, doesn't it?

The paper submitted by W Bradford Wilcox of Virginia University, circa 2007 has been routinely criticised for making generalised statements stemming from sloppy and inaccurate research. Of course, that wouldn't discourage a troll such as Pecker.
