FORMER Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s father Richard has died.

The Federal Member for Warringah made the sad announcement this morning via Twitter, tweeting: “The Abbott family has lost a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. God bless you Dad”.

The elder Abbott, aged 93, suffered a stroke on Monday and died in the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga.

Congratulations Dick Abbott, for making it to the afterlife.
Please collect a welcome basket from reception and take a seat for your number to be called.

Condolences to his family. Sad he'll not live to see his daughter being legally married to the person she loves.

Wonder if anybody was disgusting enough to suggest he dies of shame?

Haven't you just done that in a round about way?
Raising the question begs the inference.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

Not at all. Just reminiscing about his comments in parliament, televised, about Julia Gillard's father.

Do you remember?

God no, I have so many other things to allocate space in my data base for. . .important things. So many of the people here seem to use up their memory for miscellaneous slights and he said she said. Waste of space. What's done is done.

Some things just stick with you, you know? Like when the the opposition leader says to a grieving PM that her freshly deceased father died of shame.

Left a bit of an imprint on me.

What leaves an imprint on you, Bogey?
