The bad News for conservatives
Nov 20th, 2017 at 9:36pm

The Bad News for conservatives delivered by the marriage equality vote is that the areas that returned the highest no vote are also the areas that are most reliant on government welfare spending. Offering them little to no chance of exploiting that connection.
When push comes to shove, the voters of Western Sydney will support the party that will not impose a Medicare co-payment as that affects them more than same sex couples getting married.

Sounds like the LostOne is doing his GetUp! infiltrator duty with a bit of stretching the truth.

"OK!! Who stuffed the election for us?  I want answers!!"

"Hang on, chief - I've got a list of the total party and donor membership somewhere here.... or we could just get all the area phone books together ......"

The bad News for conservatives

They have a useless leader, nobody worthy to replace him, and are going to spend the next three terms in opposition.

its not really bad news .

a shorten led government will encourage a lot of complaining, whining, butt hurt behaviour.
shorten is the poster boy for the mediocre and cry babies.

when he wins, "fat steve and fat janeen" will be happy because they will have a kindred spirit as a leader. they can vibe with his class envy and whining.

BUT

PARADOXICALLY

they will be now even less likely to take action and move upwards and threaten the conservative "movers, shakers, risk takers and wealth creators.".

thats the paradox of the labor party winning.

fat Steve and fat Janeen might just move up if they are made to do work for the dole and they come to understand that contribution "feels good".

but they are going to have lives of utter garbage under the labor party. labor will pander to them and try to suckle them and sooth them and there will be no growth, their will be no improvement. after a decade of labor steve and janeen will be fatter and stupider and more entitled.

The Liberals would be crazy not to let Labor bring in the changes. My bet is that the Liberals will drag this out until the next election.

By letting libs drag this out to next election, that's quite a few extra votes to the other side.  excellent.
